Take a stand and boycott the prom. Stand for biblical moral principles. Churches in the area should host a prom for Christian couples so they do not have to support such immoral behavior. Hard to pay for a prom if no one buys tickets.
I think it would be much more fun for many of the straight kids come in holding hands with other kids of the same gender, to occasionally dance dance with people of the same gender, and get in the picture lines with people of the same gender.

How would you winnow out the gay kids?

So elitism, self-righteousness, judgmentalism, ignorance and bigotry are all 'christian principles'? Got it...Let's start taxing churches! POS

I would encourage all students who believe in Christ to boycott the SCC prom. Remember how Christians came together when those who spouted a gay agenda attacked Chik Fil A. What a statement. SCC can't have a prom if no one buys tickets.

No but why should Christian students help financially support something which is morally wrong? As far as taxing churches---I believe churches should be taxed on revenues that are not used to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, or spread the gospel. Eventually, the non Christians in this country--- the gays, the abortion activists, the extreme liberals are going to make it happen. By the way, nowhere in our Constitution is the phrase seperation of church and state appear; however, our Declaration of Independence speaks of a Creator.

Why do they allow same sex relationships hold hands at school? Are they not promoting freedom of choice? I don't see where same sex couples should offend anyone, we embrace actors, talk dhow hosts, allow teachers and such be who they are.

I'd rather my child be true to themselves than be a mean unethical person, you people are missing the point, people don't choose to be gay, no more than you choose to be right handed. More and more teens feel its safe to tell their parents, back in the day teen hide it until college. I support teens who feel they can be who they are in high school. There are not more gay ppl than in the past, they are just feeling its time to be equal. Im a Christian and i believe God will be ashamed of you ppl pointing fingers at what sin is, while some of your kids are bullies, drinking, steeling, having sex and drugs all hidden sins, judge not you be judged.

<quoted text>First, if you look around these threads, you may see why, since Christianity is often presented as a forced worship of an abusive parent, who hates his creations for how HE choose to make them.

Not a winsome and attractive thing.

Also, why do you think that people who don't believe as you do "look around and believe in nothing"?

Most people believe in most of the same things, religious or non-religious alike.
No one has forced worship upon me and I force worship upon no one. That is wrong. & extremely wrong of you to say. Abusive parent? Really? Pretty sure not all Christians are abusive parents.
You're being too judgmental of us.

LOOK. US CHRISTIANS BELIEVE HOW WE WANT. YOU OTHERS BELIEVE HOW YOU WANT

Why are the Christians always in the wrong?!? It's plain ignorance of you all to think that!

I have plenty of gay friends. PLENTY. And they all know exactly how I feel & believe about gays & how it is a sin....BUT THEY ARE FINE WITH IT BECAUSE THEY RESPECT ME JUST AS I RESPECT THEM.

The problem here is you people making a big deal out of NOTHING.

Of course Christians can believe how they want. But when they support politicians that make their religious beliefs into law or to prevent equal rights for all then they better expect some push back and I'll help push.

Despite this backwards part of the country's best attempts at clinging to antiquated nonsense dressed up as "morality" and based on fairy tales, the world will keep marching on and sooner or later equality will come to the Midwest, even Sikeston.
What do you really think you gain from trying to hurt others? There is nothing in your religion suggesting you should use it as a weapon to further your bigotry; Jesus never ran around bullying gay kids in any bible story.

C'mon y'all. We all know there's no such thing as God and that we're just a bags of meat, stuck on a rock, floating through space. I know that's some scary shit, but we have to accept it, because it's reality.
It does not matter one bit if this gay couple goes to prom, just like it does not matter if the sun comes up tomorrow. I'm sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, but your little lives are meaningless, just accept it.
Wow. I feel sad for you; "Bags of meat," "stuck on a rock", "lives are meaningless." Im thankful that you represent a very, very small percentage of "bags of meat" that are enjoying the freedoms of this country which was fought for and founded by our forefathers based on their belief in God. "Without God, this country CAN NOT and WILL NOT long endure." Ronald Reagan

Just be thankful, if you are capable of that, that the majority of the "bags of meat" that live in this country, which you are enjoying the freedoms of, are Christians. I promise you, you wouldnt want it any other way.

Who made you the moral authority? It's only wrong for YOU. WE have to financially support your christian students, nothing wrong with a little pay back. Good, glad you agree with that there needs to be some restructured tax laws. BTW that's why it was included in the first amendment - The amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion. i.e. FREEDOM FROM RELIGION....You want political preference, pay less taxes and given more freedoms based on YOUR religious CHOICE. That's BS and separatist. I only want the same rights to freedom and to pursue my happiness that you have and it NOT be based on YOUR bigoted sense of morality!

Well, the "good Christians" of America stand silently by while the president drops bombs on children so if there is balance in the universe America has already begun its decline and will not endure.

You have "plenty of gay friends," but you still think they don't deserve rights? During the civil rights movement people like you had "plenty of black friends," but you still thought they should "know their place."

Well, the Christians continuously pray for people, peace, and "balance in the universe." What about you and your kind, the high and pious atheists? You and other atheists alike seem to think you have all the answers. Why don't you and your "bags of meat" band together and do something about it?
