You know what? It is not surprising to see who the real people of God are. The ones posting nasty BS are nothing more than mean spirited trolls. Let's honor our friend Golem's memory by ignoring them. They don't deserve the time of day.
Peace.
I'm sorry, you're right. Peace to you too hon.

My condolences to those that miss Golem, as a special remembrance for him I will have a BLT sandwich for lunch and pork ribs for dinner.
I can only hope that Golem repented his gayness before he died.
Well, Golem did NOT "repent" being gay, G-d made him and all homosexuals that way and what you Christians think Leviticus says, is not correct. This is not the place for such a discussion.

As to why Golem and most Jews, even many Christians, spell G-d as "G" then a hyphen then a "d", it has to do with the fact that we also do not say the name of G-d and have not since the destruction of the Great Temple in Jerusalem and even then only the High Priest on 1 day in the year said the name of G-d. We spell it as we do as a sign of RESPECT for we are not worthy, who are sinners, to speak the name of the One who is the Creator of all (you'll notice the capitalizations as honorifics as well).

The Golem was a kind and righteous man.

My sincere sympathies to both you and his partner.
May it please you then to know, that in our discussions of you, that Golem thought very well of you and considered you to be a man of honor, incorrect in some points of view, but nonetheless a man of honor. He enjoyed you and your posts. "Thought provoking" was the phrase that most comes to mind about you.

He bore you no ill will and you should do the same of yourself with respect to the thing you said that was unfairly harsh, he'd have asked that of you.

I read a few of Golem's posts and learned a bit from his tutelage. His knowledge was wide and his heart was deep.
Rest in peace, sir. I didn't personally know you, but I was affected by your words none the less.

It is with great sadness that I report the death of my dear friend and Topix ally, The Golem. He died this past Wednesday the 12th of October, 2011.
He was a fierce defender of the right of the LGBT community. He was a Torah scholar and in recent years was a rabbinic student. In another year, he would have been ordained.
Golem was married to his partner of more than 2 decades and was married here in California.
Whether you knew him as a friend or foe, he was a good man, with a very kind heart and did a great many good things in this world, dedicating himself to the pursuit of truth, justice and equality.
Remember him.

Eric,
I'm very saddened to hear this, but appreciate you letting us all know. I learned a lot from Golem over the years. My condolenses to you, and his husband and family.

I already miss his sharp wit and boundless intelligence and SCARY knowledge of the Torah. I wish his husband all the strength he needs in the coming days. I'm sorry, I am feeling very weepy now and must sign off. Sleep well, our good and wise friend.

Eric, my condolences to you in the loss of your friend. It is not going to be the same around here without him.

Once, due to some sloppy wording of mine, he misunderstood a posting of mine and I could tell his feelings were hurt. I responded back immediately and he was gracious enough to accept my apology. I am blessed that happened when we still had the chance! It is a lesson of life, isn't it? To NOT take time for granted. As for you, take care, buddy, you have all my best wishes.

The ghouls who feed on death are showing us all we need to know about their loving Christian attitudes. I hope that someday when they have some loss that people are kinder to them than they are here today.

Hug your loved ones, everyone!

Rest in peace, Golem. We didn't agree on everything, but he was a very knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated man who did a lot for the LGBT community. His contributions were significant and he will be missed.
