"The overall bill now goes to the Senate, which is also controlled by the Socialists and their allies."

That makes it pretty much a done deal. Vive la France !

If homosexuals desire to achieve "equality" by engaging in a fantasy marriage, that's one thing. But for the homosexuals to further propogate their fantasy by involving innocent children, only deprives the children of their right to equality, namely, the right to be brought up in a normal household.
Incorporating children into their fantasy is a tactic whose only purpose is to detract from their perversion and present a false appearance of normalcy.
The attempt by the homosexuals to involve children, either through adoption or organizations such as the BSA, should be met with the greatest indignation by normal people.

Cry all you want, we're getting married and raising kids regardless of what you do.

Exactly. We always have been, and always will. It's just that recently the governments are waking up to the reality and are bringing legal equality into the picture so that our families are protected the same as heterosexual-led families.

Denying legal recognition for same-sex families and parents hurts children who are already alive, already being raised by LGBT parents.

It has to get past their Constitutional Court.

Problematic.

Is there some reason their Constitution would be involved? Is there a section on marriage in it?

In the French system, all laws passed by their legislature are vetted by their 12 person "Constitutional Court" before final enactment. They have veto power.

The article mentioned it.

That's what I get for not reading the article. Actually, I'm not real impressed with the French. It's the only country in Europe that I have visited, where I couldn't wait to leave. I suppose my prejudice stopped me from reading the article.

Is there any reason to believe the proposed marriage law would be unconstitutional?

Or are you just being overly pessimistic again?

The "Constitutional Court" is not an independent judiciary body.

But it is supposed to be a non-partisan body which interprets whether laws are constitutional.

Again, do you have any reason to believe they will find a marriage law unconstitutional, or is it just your usual pessimism.

Please. French neo-pessimism is always appropriate when dealing with French politics.
