Why doesn't this mother have a husband to also help raise the kids and pay for the bills.
If she is single, then why did decide to have children out of wedlock, and why didn't she take precautions to prevent the 2nd child?
Why isn't the father paying child support to help her?
Why should my tax dollars go to pay for other people's children?
It all comes down to personal responsibility. You wan't the tax payers to be responsible for helping her, instead of her family, the father of the children, and herself.
Except we have whole generations now devoid of being raised by moral households that teach simple morality and critical thinking skills.
We rely on the State for education now.
And see how morals, logic, and reason, and of course our cultural heritage evolved over centuries, have all plummeted? Now it's about quick access to pleasure. Drugs, sex, and a handy abortion to keep trucking along.
Not about working for one's self, acquiring property, building a family, invention, innovation, or any sort of notion of trying to make a difference in the world.
Personally responsibility is not taught in school. Planned Parenthood promoted just the opposite, and even teaches people how to live with HIV as they will inevitably get that if they take their advice on such high moral ideals like, "If it feels good, do it!"
Personal responsibility is not taught y families ... there are hardly any left. They are even broken, because mommy and daddy are more interested in sex with other people, or making more money to look good enough to get more sex, than they are taking care of their kids.
Not until this century, was anyone confused about what marriage is, exactly. No on had any illusions as to what marriage was for. It was for the children, first and foremost. For posterity, for the progression of the species, evolved over thousands of years to assure the propagation of culture and ideas. Not for love and sex (though there is nothing wrong with that, a fringe benefit), or for selfish desires.
So who is anyone going to know to take personal responsibility when such is not taught by anyone? Least of all the State, which almost everyone looks to for guidance, rather than a dusty old book or their own parents, if they have any, who read dusty old books?
Knowledge is power. So why do we depend on the least knowledgeable and least qualified institution of idiots, the government, for anything about culture, morality, or such jewels as personal responsibility? Solve that problem, and you might have you answer.
