The vatican is the world's largest employer of dirty old men
.
It keeps them off the streets and out of the unemployment lines
.
If they want to hog all the cheap Kool-aid and bread crumbs; let them
.
The parishoners can have wine and pizza delivered and not give any to the leaches

From the story, it reads like these two clergymen have some fundamental differences of opinion. Both assert they are correct in their opinions.

Guess we should let God sort it out. After all,(S)He is neither Catholic nor Episcopalian.

Man proposes, God laughs.

I'm the first to criticize the many evils being pumped out by the Catholicism Corporation. But I gotta stop short of knocking everyone at the Vatican. There's some excellent people there, I know some serious advocates for justice and equality for gay people are within the Vatican, they're also a major force promoting justice for the poor and against war, and heaven knows we can use all of those we can get. They do a lot of bad there at VC, but it ain't all bad.

If such people exist and they make themselves known they'll be tossed out of the Vatican or out of the RCC.

Of course in the meantime we do know there's a whole lot of members of the RCC hierarchy still fooling around with rentboys and, maybe sometimes, gay men who won't charge them to have sex, if not with altar boys so much anymore.

That's not what the RCC is saying, wanting by contrast to instill its religious dogma into secular law.

We'd be so lucky if talibangelicals and Francisco Franco type Catholics would simply "let god sort it out."

To outsiders, these inter-faith arguments are absurd. The whole religion is absurd.

They worship a deity who created humans, then, when the first of these humans screwed up, their deity condemned them, and all who followed after, to an eternity of torture.

The way out? Human sacrifice. Drinking human blood and eating human flesh.

Very similar to other ancient religions that practiced human sacrifice. The Aztecs come to mind.

Now, doesn't that make their little squabbles about just who is allowed to drink human blood and eat human flesh seem just a little silly?

Of all the things that we may be talking as humans,we need to know there's justice above our control.

Life doesnt end here because no one knows why he/she was born.If your father was Gay and you mother was Lesbian....would you be there!!!!!!

People do things to get power and money as they live but im sure there is a supernatural power somewhere that will take control of your nextlife.

SAY NO TO SAME SEX MARRIAGE.....

No, sweetie, we don't "need to know there's justice above our control." We WANT to know this, but let's face it, the evidence is just not there, is it?

"im sure there is a supernatural power somewhere that will take control of your nextlife." Once again, wishful thinking. And certainly nothing at all to do with my civil rights to a social institution that provides 1,168 benefits.

John,

Since you have realized that the story is not literally true, but is instead, a Hebrew esoteric allegory, what do you think the allegorical "talking snake" represents?

I think it is a reference to pre-Yahweh deity, just as Prometheus and the Titans were likely based on deities of the pre-Hellenic (and probably pre-IndoEuropean) inhabitants of Greece. Just like Prometheus, the snake gave knowledge to humans, though he did not create them like Prometheus did. I think if one goes back far enough, almost all religious dualism comes from one people occupying a country whose other people have a different set of gods. However, to the Fundies, it is a talking snake.

The "snake" of the Hebrew Creation story represents the Kundalini.

I would tend to disagree based on the geographical distance between the two cultures.

A common and very forgivable misconception about the Teachings of Christ Jesus, John.

The history and origin of the Hebrew mystery teachings, including the teachings of Qaballah, are much older than most modern Christian studies give them credit for being. In addition, during the time that the Hebrew priesthood spent in captivity to the Babylonians, much was learned from eastern schools.

Consider that the pre-deluge story of Noah is now understood to have come from the ancestral tribes on the shores of the city-states of the southern steppes of the Caucasus nearly 9,000 years ago.

East met West a very long time ago.

How right you are, Mr. Middleway.

As the Teacher wrote, "There is nothing new under the Sun."

And in Ecclesiastes 12:6 "... before the silver cord is snapped, and the golden bowl is broken,..." - a reference to the connective forces of the spiritual body to the physical body that are severed at death.

This whole thread should be taken down.
Appears to have been posted by a same sexer and then one has to ask WTH is a gay bishop doing preaching to anyone?
Only the Episcopalian Church could do something like a gay Bishop, tear the Church into and hope to weather the storm.
The Churches are full of people repulsed by thei same sex perversion-you folks need to just go away and take your gay bishops with you.

Tell me when this thread is updated:
