Zach Wahls (pic), an engineering student at the University of Iowa, spoke to an audience about his experience growing up with two moms at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently. Wahls said his biological mother Terry conceived him by artificial insemination by Donor 1033, "a 6-foot-6 pianist." Though Wahls thinks it would be "cool" to meet his biological father, he says he has no interest in developing a relationship with him...

A whole new problem for the religious wrong. A generation of well adjusted and mostly heterosexual adults that were raised by gays. I bet Tony Perkins's thinktank is busy coming up with ways to denograte these people. In a loving "christian" way of course!

A boy that has been brainwashed into thinking that it was best to be raised w/o a father on purpose. This is NOT how things are supposed to be. The world is a wicked place and pandoras box has been opened.

Yes, Pandora's box was opened when religion was created by man.

Erm, the boy wasn't "brainwashed" in anyway. He has a life experience that is different and he is sharing his personal experience. His "personal experience" with his own life trumps your made up nonsense. And I highly doubt that some sort of "this scenerio is better than that scenerio" ever played out like you imply. We gays don't spend our spare time trying to convince people that we are better than heteros, like you all seem to imagine. We're equal. Period. Our situations are no better, nor are they worse, based upon our sexual orientation or our gender.

But please, don't let that fact get in the way of your promoting your your activist religious agenda.

How it is "supposed" to be, is that a child should be raised in a loving and nurturing environment. This man was, and he is sharing that. A child's success isn't determined or guaranteed in any way based solely on having one male and one female parent.

**yawn** The wickedest thing in this world, is when one group of people determines they are better than other groups of people, and go out of their way to spout such nonsense.

yes, it was. And omniscient god wouldn't be stupid enough to create the ridiculous creation story in Genesis or the outright insane story of Noah. Only uneducated humans could EVER have created such nonsense.

Damn right, better that he be brainwashed into thinking that his mother's were evil for raising him in the manner they did and have doomed themselves to your idea of hell for their actions unless they repent. It simply doesn't matter to your "God" that these women raised a young man who is intelligent, articulate and passionate about his beliefs, they were evil and he should agree with you whether he wants to or not. You know, with wonderful Christians like you around, it amazes me that any of us make it to adulthood alive and well. God save us from some of your followers and pray that they know not what they do.

Jesus said to love God and one another as God loves you. If the words you read in the bible do not fit, they are not God's words. Use this simple test to figure out what is and is not true there.(Hint....the 10 Commandments fit perfectly) You are welome.

And if you were born in an Islamic country, you would believe differently. You know this is true. How does that fit with your religious bigotry? Believe in a God of love, it works in every situation.

It is so sad that you don't even know the point of it all. Let's just call it God's plan for mankind, shall we?

Brainwashed? This word is relative to the person using it I would say. You say the child was brainwashed into thinking that it as besty to be raised without a father on purpose. How can you make suh a claim, as though there is only one way a child can be raised. If the young man is capable of living in this society and has aims and goals and a desire for living his life in a productive manner, what difference is there in whether he has two parents of different sexes, two parents of the same sex or a single parent of one or the other? Your predisposed opinions are quite obvious. You were raised to believe what you do as was this man. If what he has been raised to believe is brainwashing then you are brainwashed just as certainly. Which one of you is more correct?

Jesus never even broached the subject of homosexuality in any of his teachings. In fact, very little is said one way or the other about homosexuality, except in the context of the OT and two disciples of Jesus who were of the OT laws. Paul, in fact, never even knew Jesus in his life time. He claimed all he said was of divine origin, but that hardly makes it true. Anyone can claim anything but it doesn't make it so. Paul circumcised Timothy before he sent him off to the church of Corinth, but regularly preached that circumcision was wrong as a goal for salvation. Paul commonly spoke of women as having no place in the ministry and said they should never be allowed to teach a man, never be allowed to preach and never be admitted to service unless they were in their sixties because the young widow was too commonly a slacker and a gossip. He even claimed women should always be subservient to men because it was a woman deceived, as though the man wasn't just as easily led astray. And, it was Paul who made the rules according to his own beliefs. No one has proven to me that he was anything more than a man who was quite full of himself. So, where does Jesus come into this?

And how in the world would a moron like you know how things are supposed to be?

Have you been reading the Bible again? That book that tells us the bat is a bird, the sun went backwards in the sky and the earth is flat? Stop reading the Bible, it only makes you sound stupid.

Whoever told you that was lying to you. So you always believe hearsay? Thinking for yourself is much more rewarding than is believing just any old tale someone bothers to tell you.

You're confusing your superstitions. Pandora's Box and Jesus Christ are from two different, conflicting mythologies. Shall we repent to Odin, and burn offerings to Vishnu, also?

ALL these supernatural concepts were created by humans. Every culture has its favorite flavors of deities, none of them are any more realistic than any others.

What IS realistic are fine, up-standing, well-adjusted individuals like Zach, who PROVE that the narrow gender roles that some would impose are not truly necessary for proper development into rational, compassionate, productive adults.

What remains unbelievable is that you'll continue to crow about how WRONG it was to raise him this way, even though evidence of his respectability and maturity are right in front of you. Typical. Tell us all about your invisible magic sky man that no one can see or hear, while ignoring the physical, real-world examples of human kindness and progress that we can all experience.

We appreciate your abandonment of reality. It's ours now, we'll take better care of it.
