so you would agree then that hetero's shouldn't cram hetero life off on children then either.....

I agree with you about the bible being tampered with. It is a proven fact and most people don't realize it and don't want to realize it. There is no telling how much has been taken out of the bible, added, or changed.
Many have chosen to believe that to question the Bible and history of Christianity is to question "God" himself, their book does their thinking for them and it has no history to tell beyond the present tense. They speak of Christianity as being some sort of singular identity, when its reality has been that of variations on a single theme. Woe unto anyone who tries to believe differently than they have chosen.

Less confusing than, say, growing up in a world with people who happen to be Lesbian and Gay, or maybe even growing up Lesbian or Gay themselves, and having all the alleged adults around them trying desperately hard to pretend that they don't even exist? Been there, done that, let me tell you that it isn't helpful. Both Gay kids and Straight ones need good Gay role models, they need to be able to talk about the facts of life and that there are going to be Gay folk in the room at some point is just one of those facts. It should be in an environment free of condemnation of either side from either side. It is a subject which needs to be learned about, it should have been taught decades ago, just imagine some of the problems which might have been avoided. If you've read enough posts on this thread, you know that it's not a subject best left solely to the parents. It should be treated like heterosexuality in the classroom, addressed in an age appropriate manner if it comes up on its own until about the age of 13 when you start them in on the PG version of the really big stuff. Both straight and gay kids need to learn about being gay and same sex sexual behaviors and safer sex practices, whether they are ever going to use that knowledge for anything or not, for the inevitable gay kids in the room, it may just save their lives.

Kind of like saying a young pedophile needs a good pedophile role model.

If you honestly can't understand the difference between an adult who is in love with another adult of the same gender and an adult who wants to take advantage of someone who can't legally consent to sexual intercourse, then I pity you.

No, more like saying a young person who chooses to be Christian needs a good Christian role model. God help them if they grow up like you.

They need that role model at home and not at school. Keep your god out of the classroom. School is for kids to open their minds, not to fill their heads with iron aged superstitions.

You've obviously mistaken me for someone who is Christian, even though I'm not, your answer is still clueless. Christians should no more be excluded from society than people who are Lesbian and Gay. If your kids can't handle a little exposure to a little bronze age superstition, then they need better coping skills.

That is correct. If you really study the bible you will know if someone has tampered with it. They may leave certain words out but it has not changed to any great extent.
You just got caught in a blatent lie.

Unless you can actually read the Greek and Latin language, and have access to the original letters and collected works of the early Christian church which were compiled over 200 years after the man called Christ's death, you can't prove this statement, either. All you have is "The bible is unaltered because the bible says so" This is a logical fallacy known as Begging the Question.

http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/begg...

It is not debated, at all, among people who legitimately study the bible, from a cultural, historical, and archeological standpoint, that the various translations throughout the past 1800 years have altered the wording of the bible and the meaning of various scripture to support the political and ecclesiastical policies of the churches.

The wording and interpretation of the bible is as varied and different among each translation as the denominations which use them. The Church of England has a different Bible than the Catholics. The Catholics have a different bible than the Eastern Orthodox. The Eastern Orthodox have a different translation than the Southern Baptists, who have a different translation than the Mormons.

1 John 2:4, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." - Christian Bible, NIV.

Sorry but you are the one that's wrong. When one studies the bible, they should do so carefully. If they find a discrepancy or contradiction then the bible they are reading is corrupted and they need to check out other translations. Trust me, God would not let his word be corrupted by mere humans no matter how much many of them have tried. Mormons care more about the book of Mormon than the bible. They can't be taken seriously by anyone who believes in God. And of course the Catholic church and many others have removed the name of God and made other subtle changes. They don't care as they care more about their traditions than God. They are a disgrace.

Over-brimming with hubris as always. You advocate one 'studies' the Bible, but if they don't come up with the answers you want, they are, of course, wrong.

The Bible is very much the work of men, men who wanted to determine the future course of Christianity decidedly in their favor. Before the compilation, Christians worked with what they had, usually one or more of the Gospels, one or more of Paul's epistles and a variety of known and today unknown writings that had been inspired by Christ. There were nearly as many ways to be Christian as there were Christian churches. The council responsible for establishing a common Christian canon of works were attempting to remake the faith in their own image and they succeeded. Man has been the only one involved in the processes of determining what is in and what is not in the various canons, translations and re-interpretations. Unless you're telling us the ugly politics which is often religion really is God's will. You're not, are you?

What? No ugly, immature response for me? I feel slighted. Maybe if I ask again? Why do you insist on behaving like a sexually frustrated, emotionally stunted, maturity deprived, intellectually challenged, 14 year old boy, who desperately wants to be the bully, when his reality is that he's among the bullied?
