As are the wedding planners, Resorts, and those churches that will be open to marry a same gender couple.

As soon as they file their federal tax return as a state licensed married couple; Pennsylvania's screechy republican homophobes won't have a leg to stand on

The author of the news article thinks marriage licenses are free because he keeps saying they are being 'given out'
.
Marriage licenses are not free
.
In Pennsylvania; a marriage license costs $45 to $85 depending on the county where purchased
.
Example: Haynes' marriage license bureau has already sold 150 marriage licenses to gay couples at perhaps $85 each =$12,750.00 cash in the county kitty
.
It appears the gays; not Haynes; are the ones doing the 'giving' to the tune of $12,750
.
Cost to Haynes? 150 sheets of office paper printed up real pretty
.
WHAT a deal!!!

According to the Flag of Equal Marriage; a state isn't counted until gay marriage becomes legal statewide
http://makeitequal.org/
.
So Pennsylvania is in a race with New Jersey and New Mexico for #14,#15, and #16
.
The next state after that (#17) will put the total number of gay marriage states over the 1/3 mark

Though not yet equal, I'd have to give New Mexico a strong lead, as the state recognizes same sex marriages from other states, DC, some of their own counties, and other nations, equally to the opposite sex marriages from those same jurisdictions.

Well then Hawaii is likely to beat ALL of them to the finish line and become #14.

The bill Gov Abercrombie submitted to the Democratic supermajority legislature calls for marriages to begin 1 Nov.

Not exactly. Remember San Francisco did the same thing. The Court ordered them to stop and invalidated the marriages. Under the then-existing Law, this was proper.

I expect the same in Pennsylvania.

From the article:

" ... Attorney General Kathleen Kane, a Democrat, delegated defense of the marriage law in a federal lawsuit to Corbett, a Republican. Kane's position has been that the law, which limits marriage to between a man and a woman, is unconstitutional ... "

I do to, but it's still fund to watch, particularly in THIS state.

It's all to the good, though, because it is getting the conversation started, and opens up chances for a further court actions regarding constitutionality.

Why should Buddhists and Hindus read the bible and pay any attention to what it says about anything at all ?

What a silly thing to say. It's like complaining that green eyes are not "the way."

What in the world would you like a green-eyed person to do? Wear brown lenses just to make YOU happy? A gay person can no more change their orientation than a green-eyed person can change their eye color.

And why should they, even if they could?

Trying to change a small and harmless natural and God-given trait just because someone else takes offense to is is not sensible, even if it were possible.

A lot of Pennsylvania is a lot more like Alabama and Mississippi, rather than like New York or New Hampshire.
