The U.S. Supreme Court is considering two controversial cases involving whether same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry: Proposition 8, California's 2008 ban on gay marriage, and the Defense of Marriage Act, which since 1996 has defined marriage for federal purposes as a union between a man and a woman.

1. Now go back and read what YOU said I said;
"Marriage is needed to prevent pregnancy"
2. Now you insert 'every' in supporting unwed mothers, something I never said.
The fact is, even some support involves government interest making YOUR assertion 'utterly without logical foundation'.
3. I backtracked on nothing. No culture in history has had ss couples labeled as married from start to finish. Not a single one.
Every single culture in known human history has had marriage.
You keep trying to throw children under the bus and ignore the cultural and religious practice. Like a rat sneaking in through the sewer, you are trying to impose an impostor relationship on marriage through a manipulation of the law.
In the end, all you have is a mutually sterile, pointlessly duplicate gendered half of marriage.
And there is not one damn thing you can do to change that.
You should probably get a divorce, given that your marriage is now a sterile plural marriage. If you can't breed babies, you're not pleasing in God's eyes.

When last I checked, allowing same sex marriage does not impose a morality on anyone. Denying it, on the other hand does. If same sex marriage is allowed, you are still allowed to feel that it is wrong, and not to enter into such a union.
If we are to allow free will and free expression, that means allowing people to engage in choices that may have health concerns. We also allow people to choose to smoke and drink in spite of the fact that each of those choices carry health concerns.
Actually, the 14th Amendment has precedent in providing equal protection of the law for all people since 1868, when it was passed.
Actually, I live in two states that have already done the right thing and passed marriage equality. The rest will soon follow, because those who oppose equality, like yourself, lack a valid legal argument to deny it.
We don't subsidize booze and smokes. We tax the bejesus out of them!

You can carry on now. I'm still waiting to see who feels entitled to gubbermint money for breeding.

You have plenty of youth dysfunction in the poor sections of Chicago and Detroit. They murder each other and bystanders get shot. An academic student was gunned down a while back. So many articles it is hard to keep track. Most come from single parent families doomed to live in poverty. Your point is patently absurd. Should Detroit be the blueprint for your area? The state has no interest? You are absolutely crazy. You might have a point in that the state may have an interest in this continuing madness by robbing everybody of their constitutional rights under the guise of protection.
<quoted text> Are you having trouble keeping up? Short term memory loss? You wrote the state does not have any interest in the raising of children. The claim is absurd. I pointed it out.
But the State DOES keep it's collective mouth shut on MANY things.

The question is whether the State properly supports ALL children or does it use legal shell games to deny some groups the same resources given to others.

Do divorced parents or unwed parents get all the opportunities that others get? Do they get unfairly prejudicial insurance rates or lesser pay in the workplace? Certainly the kids are impacted by such things.

No, sorry to say, the gubbermint needs to come clean and renounce ALL of their behavior modification tricks, ALL their social engineering programs, ALL their unequal punishments, and ALL of their lying. It WILL come back to do more than haunt them. Every generation of children is taught their place in the class warfare and it won't be long until it ALL becomes real warfare.

<quoted text>So, you claim the KKK would be right to sue a Jewish photographer who refused to service their rally? What kind of bad law is that?
PC leftist fascist law, new government regulation of business morality. Socialist, leftist destruction of fundamental institutions like marriage and family.
Basically, your argument is that any business owner should always be allowed to turn away any member of the public, for any reason, and that all the laws preventing such things in the past, and today, were wrong-headed and should be overturned because they infringe on a religious person's right to discriminate against minorities?

All because you hate the idea of gay folks marrying?

Sorry, it's just not going to happen.

If you try to remove and erase all 1200 or so benefits and protections of marriage, you will have a fight on your hand. It is will be your own friends and family that lead the charge.

I'd just take the opportunity to point out that ss marriage is an oxymoron.

He's trying to. Who the *uck do you think you are to say who qualifies for what?

Spill it! Put it RIGHT out there for everyone to see. Do you think that everyone who isn't breeding is compelled to work for those who do?

All I want is a yes or no. That's all I'm interested in hearing.

Of course they do. What disqualifies them? Please explain, but without your now-famous "cross cultural constraint..." line. Why should government take a compelling interest in how or whether two people of ANY orientation chose to become each other's legal spouse? This should be easy for you, right?

Society has an interest in promoting healthy families.

My wife has a co-worker (has two children) who is living with her boyfriend. They don't get married because she would lose her HUD housing. He doesn't make as much as she does with all the government support she makes.

The government is subsidizing single parents. Now we want to add two guys taking support intended for stay at home mothers and children.

Women are doing everything a man can do, the government is in the role of husband and father, and men are doing nothing.

It's understood. You won't provide a simple yes or no.

The Gays are right to want their rights enshrined in the Constitution. It's very simple. You expect others to accept charity and to keep their mouths shut or risk losing it.

Too bad for them that they chose to exploit a minority group in their efforts to keep up with the Jones's. That's just one road to Hell paved with good intentions. Yours is another.

The only way that anyone can have real freedom is to have the means to control their own destiny. You're a liar. A LIAR! You're just the kind of liar who prefers to keep the truth to yourself while you smugly call yourself a leader. But I never voted for you and have no intention to.

This is why you have a world of teenage know-it-alls. They know that mom and dad are convinced of their self-important righteousness. They live in the now. They know that the only future is a future where the powers that be are driven to their own downfall. They can't be good citizens so their only choice is to be bad slaves.

Don't tell me about the need for proper parents in this world. You're the worst kind of failure that gets called parenting. You're the plebeian masses that have lied, lied, lied about your control over your own destiny. You have no control over your destinies and your kids are determined to make sure that you can't use them in your last lying effort to exploit their own children!

What a pathetic group.

Homosexuals are using big government to dumb down marriage.

Love is a choice, not a government act.

Love is not a choice. Love is what love is. You cant help who you love idiot.

The big mistake was to ever make marriage a civil contract. All the government should hand out is civil union contracts for all people who want them....But since we are here now ALL....GET ALL PART HITLER????? NEED EQUALITY.
