marriage is a legal contract , and always has been, it has been the purview of the State since its inception as it is a social construct.

there is no legal requirement for procreation to enter into the guaranteed civil right of marriage. nor is the ability to procreate a necessity for the couple, even before SSm was added to the definition of US marriage law.

try to get at least one fact straight in your next post....

I think the religious are concerned that now the government supports homosexuality but that isa not true. Gay awe ix already legal and in truth gay ,arraign puts aresponssibilty issue into a fee for all non committed orgy prone lifestyle Marriage restricts people to responsibility. She wasn't sued dipstick, she had a complaint filed against her with state's Human Rights Commission. She was found guilty by them and ordered to pay the couple's legal expenses in filing the case, which the couple themselves waived. So other than an order to not discriminate again, there has been no penalty for her bad behavior. She and her good Christian attorneys at the ADF have been wasting the tax payers money on her attempt to claim that Christians have a God given special right to be bigots.

'Purview of the state'- marriage has been since caveman times, when there was no concept of 'state'. It is for the reason I stated.
Yes, of course,'there is no legal requirement for procreation', but that is exactly why our parents got married: To bring us into this world and bring us up as sensible adults so that we shall in future fulfill the sacred trust of parenthood honourably.
