“The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage.”- Thucydides ~ 450 BC

150 bigots..err, I mean "Christians" want to deny two people the marry? It simply does not make sense to me. The protestors and their signs just bring to mind the signs of the even more bigoted Muslims. True Christians should support these people, as they are not to judge.

Unfortunately, for the followers of religion that is, organized religion of any type is the biggest pyramid/ponzi scheme ever devised. Bernie Madoff's great-great-great-great-great- great-great-great-great-great- great-great-grandfather's half brother 13 times removed from George Obama Van Zant Cromagnonian's lover and baby momma Mary Magdalene Neandrethalian had an epiphany one day as he was hitting stones with his club to pass time.

He said to himself, "Self, I will devise a plan <insert evil laughter>! If I can get enough suckers, err I mean parishioners, and convince them that some other-worldy being created this place - creatures, the seas, you name it - and that I am a seer. Convince them that I am prophetic and when it is hot as Hell (oops, he coined a term!) in the summer, gets cloudy and storms....the deity, we will call him God for short!, is doing it to punish you for your evil ways! He will give your small children cancer, and all will be well, for He has a better plan!"

Anyway, the bastard child, who took on the name Unk Propheticus, slowly curated stories he had heard, manipulated them to his liking and for the next many tens of thousands of years his successors did the same. The Greeks, the Hebrews, the Persians, the various Princes/Sultans/Kings/Baby Daddies - they all changed sections to fit their needs/wants/desires/etc.

All along the way, tens upon tens upon tens of millions of people slaughtered in the name of religion. All praying to someone or some thing that may as well be one of my pet rocks from the 1970's. Each generation demanding or taking or extorting money/gold/whatever of value in the name of religion.

To this day, in the year 2014, we have 150 people protesting two women who want to get married. Castigating grown women who love each other. I am a heterosexual man, proudly in fact. I deduced this fact the first time I felt "it" when I saw certain females. The ladies happen to have the same type feelings for women. I certainly didn't make a decision to be hetero any more than these ladies made a decision to like women. We are BORN into it, get over it, and let any consenting party of age marry likewise and start tackling issues that are really issues, instead of a bs issue for some politicians to get on their soapbox and continue catering to the lowest common denominator.

Good luck ladies, I wish you the best in your marriage. I hope it turns out better than my marriage did....and about half of all hetero marriages do!

And for the grammar and spelling Nazis, my apologies for spelling errors and such, it is too damn late in the morning for me to proofread.

Freedom, I'd be happy to send you a free copy of our book by email. I applaud your post, and agree that the hatred of a few should not dictate the freedom of any.

Let the homophobes have all the protests they want...they are losing and will continue to lose the battle to keep gays second class citizens.
