Chavez and Hardison said they hold strong Christian values but the issue involves discrimination.

They hold strong Christina values but yet they endorse and support homosexuality. Excluding hemosexuals is not discrimination in my opinion. At what point does "sexual preference" deserve special consideration? Gays and lesbians do NOT deserve the same and equal rights and privledges in a relationship as a male/female couple.

Just because you go to church and read the Bible does not make you a Christian no more than sitting in a garage makes you a car.

Gays need theropy, not special rights or consideration.

Wow things have change a lot in the 20 years since I was in High School. The only couples that were shown were the prom King and Queen. I am sure folks are ready to weigh in on this.......what say you?

Homosexuality has gone on all throughout time. I am not gay, but gay individuals have the right to express themselves. They don't choose to be gay, they are born that way.

Christian soldiers in midieval times had homosexuality. In many cases, it was actually preferred, especially in Roman and Greek times. It was thought that it one soldier cared that much for another soldier, that they would fight that much harder to win battles.

If straight couples are allowed in the yearbook, then so should gay couples. It is not a Christian Rights issue at hand, it is an equal rights issue. When equal rights are at stake, throughout history, there have always been people who don't agree. In the end, history will show that change is good.

One more thing, isn't it un-Christian to judge others? I think that the therapy comment was a little strange.

Gay people need to be treated EQUALLY (as it guarantees in the U.S. Constitution, which I hope they are still teaching about in high school), not looked down upon simply because they are gay.

And if you say that that offends your Christian values, then I assume that Hindu and Buddhist students also offend your Christian values, and should not be treated EQUALLY, rite ?

Wow, Christians once again twisting the subject which should be the issue "Discremination" What I see is a page that was highlighting couples and the issue of asking one or the other out on a date? So the issue is why not gays? They were not publicly preaching or teaching courses on sexual relationships or prefrence. What are we afraid of, the reality of our lives are there are differences and we must all learn as Christians to love the uniqueness of the person as GOD would and did. Only a view of another Christian.

Now now, let him have his opinion (with one P ). You can have your oppinion (with 2 P's) Every body gets to have one. You don't have to like it but he still gets to voice it. That is the law.

Sexual preference began to receive special preference when it first became an issue used to deny people their civil rights. Excluding people from school or social activities based on gender, race or sexual orientation is bigotry any way you look at it.

Please remember that when a nation plays loose with civil rights, they don't stop with just a few minorities, they tend to expand to other groups. Your group might just be next.

What document would that be? It sure isn't the constitution. I challenge you to find it in there for me.

Why is it such a big deal for gay couples to be featured in the yearbook? Keeping them out won't protect our kids; they are going to see it at school anyway. We feature heterosexual couples every year. I think a mountain is being made out of a molehill. It's not like the gays couples were shown having sex or anything. They were simply featured right alongside hetero couples. No big deal. It harms no one.

Thanks for that clarification there Daniel. Let the kids have their year book. The Church going people of Clovis are just going to have to be christian enough to deal with this and learn to live and let live.

The way I see it, it seems to be a one way street...

I'm straight, and married. However it makes no sense for anyone to ban them from anything or make an issue of them being in the year book. if you are ok with the tv shows, commericals and ads exploting sexuality of straight people that is WAY more provocative , then why can't they be in the year book, of their school?

OUr society has really lost their mind!! we don't stop the girls gone wild commericals that play non stop, yet we want to complain about this year book??
