The Legal Circus That Killed Proposition 8

Jul 25, 2013 Full story: www.thepublicdiscourse.com 11
One of Prop 8 Campaign managers whines about why they lost. Oh and it wasn't HIS fault of course! He blames slick-talking lawyers and self-interested judges and politicians, not the fact that he tried to pass a law that is patently unconstitutional. Full Story

Hilarious!!!

Other than him stating that Prop 8 is no longer in effect (maybe, according to him), I don't think there are two words of truth in this whole whine. He's desperately trying to rewrite history in order to make himself a victim. Too funny.

And, once again, I am astonished at how little the hate-mongers understand about how our system of government and laws works. These people are clueless. I learned more from my 8th grade Civics teacher about the law than what it appears this fool knows.

That this scumbag comes from my city and graduated from my high school brings shame to all of us, but it's sweet to see him bitch, moan, and cry over his loss.

In the end, however, the only people who "lost" are those like Schubert who insist on keeping civil marriage a privilege only for opposite-sex couples.

No one else loses. Opposite-sex couples don't lose since they can still marry and their marriages and children aren't affected. Same-sex couples and their children benefit from all of the same protections and responsibilities that civil marriage affords opposite-sex couples. And society benefits by encouraging and supporting commitment and monogamy for those who choose to enter into a civil marriage.

A win for all.

Except for the whiners.

Pure Bull sh*t. It's the rallying cry for the religious right.

The anti gays are the ones who began changing marriage laws. AFTER gays and lesbians pointed out that the current laws were written to allow for SSM. Stop complaining that it was YOUR side who wrote DOMA in the first place!

Brian_G wrote:

That's true. We have no problem if two people want to marry. We think it makes for a more stable society which is why we want the same chances any other American gets. And in fact we aren't trying to pass laws that would hinder male/female marriages. We simply want the same constitutional rights heterosexuals couples enjoy when they marry.

The majority of heterosexuals in this country now agree I should have the same marriage rights you have. BTW I've never been divorced like you have.

Your "gender segregated marriage" term is clever. Means nothing in reality yet at the same time attempts to mask your religious bigotry and to shove your lifestyle choices down the throats of the majority.

Definition of SEGREGATION
1
: the act or process of segregating : the state of being segregated
2
a : the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means
b : the separation for special treatment or observation of individuals or items from a larger group <segregation of gifted children into accelerated classes>
3
: the separation of allelic genes that occurs typically during meiosis.

Brian you use segregation the the context of a government process that forces people to be with those like them.

When did marriage become something the government could force onto anyone on your planet ?

<quoted text>No law can force a private business to service a same sex marriage. The problem is same sex marriage clerks in the IRS who leaked the National Organization for Marriage's 2008 tax returns to their political enemies.
If you don't want your tax returns leaked, keep marriage one man and one woman.
.
<quoted text>I don't quote the Bible, DNF is confused.
Gays have always married under the same laws as everyone else; I cite Oscar Wilde and Meredith Baxter for examples. The issue isn't freedom, the issue is special laws for a mascot victim group, to balkanize our Republic on the lines of sexual orientation.
Many gays defend marriage as one man and one woman because every gay was born of man/woman unions.

Yes many gays do protect marriage as they were taught by their parents to do. You should try it sometime. And many heterosexuals also endorse our rights. A majority in fact. So here you go again whining that you aren't getting your special rights everyday for breakfast.

Those tax records are part of the public record. What leak are you talking about now? The one from your lower lip?

Or are you just made because many of those records were not part of the ones they were court ordered to produce! And have been refusing to produce to many State Courts investigating them for violating campaign finance laws!

Poor BrianG. All his attempts to spin the truth are failing.

It should be pointed out that Schubert's cry appears here in "Public Discourse" from The Witherspoon Institute, the same anti-gay organization that paid for the fraudulent Regnerus study last year.

They're not interested in "public discourse." They are a conservative religious think tank opposed to gay rights, abortion, and stem cell research.

I find it fascinating that he was a huge fan of wrestling matches. If there is ANYTHING more homo erotic it is those fake wrestlers? I watch it on cable TV on occasion and wonder just WHO the fans are as the huge men hug and shove legs between thighs and grind crotches while the white trash audiences scream and cheer, sometimes their clinches put them into a 69 position. I mean REALLY?

Bigot Schubert is one to complain of cheating
.
He had to unlawfully import money and mormons from across the Utah state line to swing the California vote to his favor
.
'That's cheating!

.....and the result is the fault of his own doing

Every time I read another story from the Prop 8 crowd that tries to explain what is going on with them I can't help thinking about an AllState Insurance Commercial. The one where the guy is claiming how bad women drivers are but it's the woman who gets the safe driver check not the guy!
