Thank you for not trying to claim that the poor child was bullied because she was gay. It is heartbreaking enough for her parents without that added stress.

One thing I've mentioned in other articles is that, even if the victim of bullying isn't lesbian or gay, that usually plays a part in the bullying in that homophobic language is usually used to attack these poor children.

However, there's no information one way or the other that she was lesbian. It is still very tragic. A young life was lost to bullying.

You know guys...I had to deal with that situation a while back. I made the mistake of claiming that a suicide victim was gay when he wasn't. I got a rather nasty note from the victim's boyfriend. He had been bullied, though. So, despite Chance's issues, on this one, he is right. It would be wrong of me to erroneously claim that this girl was lesbian or bullied for being lesbian because it would hurt her family if I was wrong, and because it would be wrong of me because that information was never revealed.

Sei, implying she's gay would hurt her family only if they're bigots; otherwise the information would be merely erroneous, not hurtful. In any case, SniKKKers is not thanking you for getting the facts correct. He/she/it is using this tragedy as another opportunity to indulge in bigotry, and that is NOT right.
