That's just God's Wrath for Arizona being such a bigoted place.

I was living in Oro Valley, AZ 60 miles south of here last year, and the weather was nowhere near as hot there as here. But I couldn't find a house there I could afford because it's a rather ritzy area. I got a great deal on a nice house here, but didn't realize that only 60 miles away, the weather would be this much hotter.

But I DO intend on staying here for the foreseeable future. I intend on signing a new lease to run at least to 2017.

And I happen to run into Sheriff Paul Babeu here in town not too long ago. As far as I know, he is the only openly gay sheriff in the U.S. We had a nice chat for awhile.

Of course I can't let my cats outside here tho.:(

First of all, you really shouldn't let your cats outside unless they are on a leash. We had one of our cats get out and he got hit by a car. He survived, but they had to amputate his tail.

I live in Vermont. This year it's been cooler than the last few. I love my state because we're really kind of weird.

My 3 New York cats were all outside cats because they were strays I adopted. The latest cat I adopted, incongruously named "Brooklyn" by it's previous owner here in Arizona, I don't know is he was an outside cat or not. But everyone here, particularly my vet, says DON'T ever let the cats outside here because of the wildlife here. PLUS, since June 1, it has been at least 105 degrees F here each day, so it's too hot for them outside anyways.

And something amusing with them the other day. I bought one of those plastic 16" tall owls the other day to hopefully scare away the thousands of pigeons we have here.:( It has LARGE plastic eyes.

I took it out of the box to screw a mounting bracket to it to place on the roof of the house, and the cats WERE SCARED TO DEATH of it. LOL I have NEVER seen them react like that to anything at all. I think it's the very LARGE plastic eyes that frightened them. LOL

Don't worry, once Arizona bans same sex marriage again, it will cool down and not be so bigoted.

Don't blame me, I'm a born-and-bred-New Yorker of more than 50 years who moved here 18 months ago.

And I recently ran into our OPENLY-GAY-AND-NATIONALLY-KNOW N Sheriff Paul Babeu here. We had a nice chat and he seems like a nice guy.(We were the only 2 people waiting on line to mail a letter at the Coolidge, AZ post office here).

101 degrees F. here now :( with 9% humidity :) The temp peaks here at 4 pm each day usually at 105 degrees F, or more each day since June 1. And here in the desert, we have had a drought for a long time and the last time we had a drop of rain was April 9th, and it was only 0.03" of rain.

Have at least ONE solar water heating panel on the roof? With two or three you could heat a hottub for free. With six-eight a small swimming pool.

A couple of those kitty jungle gyms near northfacing windows with big ferns hanging from the ceiling over them give them "trees" to perch and snooze in, as well as cubbies to snuggle in and tubes to (ohmygodohmygodohmygodIjustgot tago)THROUGH ! Carpeting tubular concrete forms and 4x4's and some plywood platforms is very do it yourself and allow you to customize for something far more suited to your kitties ... even the three-legged one. Something for everyone.

Oh sorry. I forgot. That something for everyone, even the disabled or old, just wouldn't be "Libertarian". Just forget the above. It's all about you.

I thought about the solar water thing, because my water heater here is gas. But I don't own the house, I'm just renting it for awhile. They have one 72" cat tree they like, I'm bidding on another one on ebay rite now, and I cut up a cardboard box they love. I also bought them toys to play with, and give them too many cat treats.

And Calley, the three-legged Queens cat, is just as physically able as the other 3 cats, because he's been 3-legged since at least teh age of 5 months old.

Did I tell you about the plastic owl I bought to keep the pigeons away ? LOL

The solar water heater can be very homemade and just serve the hottub,(It doesn't need to be a hard installation) or you can splice it into the infeed line to your gas waterheater. Just remember to drain it and bypass it when the colder weather sets in.

At least talk it over with your landlord. Who knows. It might be a real advertizable asset in the future.

Ebay?. OK, but buy, buy, buy. How own bootstraps of you.

I buy LOTS of stuff on ebay. I probably bought more stuff on ebay this past month or 2 than any similar period in the past 15 years.
