I will admit that I assumed you were a christian when you never stated that. I was completely wrong by posting that comment. Anything posted on this website is completely irrelevant to my daily life. I like to occasionally debate specific topics, but I strive to never personally insult others.
What I just realized after reading your last post is that I feel the same way you do on the subject of Christianity. I purposely stay away from organized religion. However, I do consider myself a spiritual person. Don't get me wrong, I understand that organized religion holds an important place in society but I interpret the bible differently than the way it is taught in churches.
This was quite an ironic exchange of opinions.

Gosh, there is many many other colleges out there that doesn't care if girls do girls or boys do boys heck before long you should be able to do it with your farm animal! There is always kids that's gonna screw around(that premarital sex stuff someone was talking about)I sure talk to my teen all the time about putting off the sex stuff(so much other stuff to worry about-don't add that to your plate. Point is: I don't go where I should not go or where I don't belong or people don't want me. If your gay I'm sure they read the rules...for gosh sake IT IS A CHRISTIAN COLLEGE...just go somewhere else that don't care who sleeps with who or who sleeps with what.I'm just sick and tired of having things that I feel is morally wrong rubbed in my face , threaten you with law suites and more if you don't give in to our new immoral society. Bottom line.. I don't want to tell my children that it is "normal" for them to have "better halves" of the same sex. Old saying "it's Adam and eve not Adam and Steve. People don't much read the bible anymore anyway and when they do they put their own spin on it anyway. I don't teach my children to hate gays in no way but I tell them I think that behavior is unnatural . Don't respond hateful to this... It is my RIGHT to believe this way as much as a gay person believes their way,, so whose rights are getting stepped on now!!!!!!!

'Don't respond hateful to this...' If you have to put it in your post, even you think your bigoted..Religion is YOUR CHOICE, being gay is not! Too bad you don't follow it because self-righteousness is also a SIN.

There are a few reasons a gay kid might be attending a narrowminded "Christian" college, not the least of which could be that his parents insisted, or that they're paying his tuition, or that he is struggling with his identity as a gay man and hoping for some understanding. Otherwise, I can't imagine why he'd pay to be rejected.

Too bad, I guess Ignorance, lack of compassion, self-righteousness and bigotry are alive and well in Chicago too.

"Working Class Poor," imagine if Johnson was your child. How would you react in this situation. Would you shun him just as the college did? Many people do not have a choice of where to go to school, primarily because their parents are paying for them. I'm sure there were many unseen variables that led to him going to this school and I'm sure he knew he would be criticized once he came out but that does not mean he should be treated the way he was.

So Cumberland can justify expelling a young man for coming out of the closet but also recruit a young man for football who gang banged a 12 year old with his buddies?
