America opposes gay marriage

Full story: Berkshire Eagle

The New York Times on Nov. 11 reported Maine's rejection of same-sex marriage as "a stinging setback for the national gay-rights movement." It repealed the state's new law allowing same-sex marriage passed by the Legislature in May.

America opposes Gay Marriage? So what? That doesn't change anything. You think you are going to eliminate same sex cohabitation? Move on to a more productive hobby. Volunteer or something. Don't worry about your neighbor.

Hmm.
And I thought the worst drivers were in New York...

If the Speed Limit is 55, then they are perfectly within their rights. The only people they would be "holding up" would be unlawful speeders.

Given a ticket for obeying the law?
Insane.
Not keeping up with traffic is dangerous and could cause others to get into accidents. Why is that so hard to fathom? I have seen guys like you, piddly paddly in the fast lane, hands gripped on wheel..everyone elese have to go around. Stop it.

Don't come crying to me when you cause an accident by driving like you are 90 years old and blocking other drivers due to your selfishness and clueless behavior.

Driving 55 is driving like I'm 90??

If you want to drive 75mph, go to Talledega.
If you do 10+ the speed limit and have an accident, I hope you only kill yourself, and don't take any innocent bystanders with you.

I take those with a grain of salt, for two reasons;
Anyone can dig up anything on the 'net to support their position.
I'm sure that I could find something to counter and/or negate that, but what is the purpose?
Also, rulings sometimes out-rule themselves.
There is some kind of silly "slower drivers move to the right" law. Idiots think that this gives them the right to speed. If the speed limit is 55, I have EVERY RIGHT to be in the left lane if I am doing the speed limit.
A judge in New York pointed this out and basically stated that he doesn't care how the law is worded or intended, he is not going to punish someone observing the speed limit, even if they were holding up traffic.
I digress, but my point is this - every judge can and will intrepret as he wishes. A judge after him could have a different view, overturning the former.
You certainly do digress, which seems to be your nature. Judging from the posts that come after this, and the tangent of speed laws, this is a fairly successful post for your, as it effectively obfuscates conversation about the topic at hand.

As for your point that one can find anything on the internet to back their position, I would counter that what I have found is the text of a Supreme Court decision, which you have decided to ignore. You ask for fact, but when it is presented to you, and does not support your preconceived notion, you dismiss it regardless of its basis. It would be interesting if your could further your position based on such facts, or to illustrate what the damage to the state would be, factually, by allowing homosexual unions.

Hmmm.
Again, with the exception of "legal", you are mixing fact and opinion.
To the person involved, polygamy, incest, bestiality, etc. are all "normal", and I'm sure that they feel that they have a "right" to do so.
Nonetheless, the state has found it in its interest to ban polygamy, because it found harm in that type of relationship. Incest is harmful, and there is scientific proof of this. Regardless of what those who indulge in bestiality think, marriage is a legal contract, and animals have no means to indicate consent, so inter-species marriage will not become a reality any time soon.

People are so uptight and one-sided when it comes to anything different. You could say that in that way we are all subject to being bi-polar in that way. It doesn't matter if a guy plugs a woman or plugs another guy. Its all about pleasure anyway. I say to any man out there, if you were blindfolded and received a killer blowjob from an unknown person, and then later found out it was from another man, would you think any less of it? Whatever gets you off is what I say. Someday the world will wake up and realize that the only tie between a man and a woman is a baby. And that comes after sex, not during. Damn I'm horny.

Internet laughter is often false and is often predicated on the notion that since *others cannot see you*, the "first line of defense" is to pretend you are unaffected by, or amused by, the proceedings.

And since I just said that, I obviously didn't fall for your bullshit.

Moving on. There's more fun to be had.
Cammy wrote:
YOu didn't really prove anything besides they only put down gays...
Completely disagreed, but it is common for some -- as you, here -- to be intractable as a child when presented with logic. People *hate* logic. They *hate, hate, hate* it. It leaves them *nowhere to turn* and with no alternatives but to ADMIT TRUTH.

That's what it's DESIGNED to do.
Cammy wrote:
it seems to me that you might have a little homosexual in you.
Before I address your biggest mistake in saying this, I would forcefully assert here that the "commonly held macho view" that this is worse than murder doesn't hold with me.

To me, murder is bad. Sexual orientation of any kind simply is what it is.

If you have a different moral code from that, I will leave you to your own filth as I leave you asserting quite vehemently that any problem you have with anyone's orientation is yours, and makes you look extraordinarily spineless. But please, argue that fact with me because I am a pitbull on this one. I don't put up with society's bullshit stances on this matter, and I am about to explain further.

Ready?
Cammy wrote:

EXACTLY the point. You illustrate here, handily, the very point by which you "deploy yourself." I don't mean to be exceptionally harsh with you, but I find your point execrable, to say the least.

What you are basically saying, or implying, is --*because* so many males or females *WHO WOULD THEMSELVES BE TERRIFIED* of being labeled gay *WOULD NEVER DARE* to speak up on these matters -- that therefore, anyone who does "looks gay" or "runs the risk" of looking gay.

That's *why* so many avoid it, and are so afraid of it. Because being gay is supposedly being worse than murder.

My most common response to that is, in one form or another, by whatever set of words, that they are free to go choke on their own vomit.

Your point doesn't reflect on *me*; it reflects on *their spinelessness*. If they had backbone and the courage to stand up for equality of all persons, this wouldn't be an issue. Because they don't, it's *NOT* an issue.

You cannot assert anyone's sexual orientation based on their views. What anyone *can* assert is that *the execrable societal norm* is responsible for your misguided view that you can.

Oh, and?

You're aware that it's actually psychology itself that says those terrified of these issues "might have a little gay in them," right? Just a thought.

Don't quake in too much terror now. Unlike me, it seems *you* are bothered by that.
