I'm vocally opposed to black marriage (It's not very popular anyways, and only a small minority of Americans engage in it).

There's no "courage" involved in wanting to strip a group of people of their constitutional rights. That's like saying slaveholders were "courageous", or that people who denied women the right to vote were "courageous."

Bull puckey.

This ridiculous trend in which oppressors and bigots try to claim the righteous mantle of victimhood is offensive and insane. There is no moral excuse for discrimination or oppression. None.

Whoever gave the bad marks to Europa's post above? He was clearly mocking the arguments of the antigay groups with a piece of satire. How could anyone misinterpret that?

Being vocal about wanting to harm others is hardly "courageous". What idiot would think it was?

In a way, they are victims. Victims not of the G & L community, but rather of their own fear and ignorance. The only problem is, their fear and ignorance extends the harm to others. Misery loves company, you know.

Moreso, today, to be publicly opposed to SSM than to be openly gay.

Example:

Jason Collins. He came out, got a call from the President, et. al, was subject to general public acclaim for his courage, honesty, pick one.

Those opposed to SSM get grilled on CNN and hissed at by the host, celebrity co-host and audience.(Ryan Anderson on CNN's Piers Morgan show, 3/26/13.

They don't like gay marriage because it shatters thier pathetic delusion that "straight is superior."

Your logic is grossly distorted.

There are any number of people that, if they were interviewed on CNN, might be greeted with disdain and hostility by the host, co-host, and audience. The Boston bomber would be one; Casey Anthony, another; Charles Manson, a third; the Grand Wizard of the KKK, a fourth. You get the point.

None of these people are "courageous". All have affronted common human decency by their hateful, insane behavior and attitudes; all have attempted to justify themselves in the court of public opinion and been found lacking. They are simply reaping what they have sown by their own hands.

It's more courageous, because when you oppose gay marriage, you'll not only be called a bigot but run the risk of being discriminated against in politics, businesses, and at the work place. There's no freedom of opinion unless you gay.
So you "run the risk of being discriminated against" in your laundry list of activities if you demonstrate that you're a bigot. As to ACTUALLY being discriminated against in all those areas if you're openly gay in more than half of these united states. I have no more sympathy for what you bigots are going through than I have for members of the KKK and their ilk who feel they're discriminated against if they voice their opinions on gays, blacks, Latinos, Jews, Catholics and on and on.'' So quit whining and join the true Master Race—the Human Race.

Welcome to what we have lived under your gentle rulership. That, and evictions, dispossessions, abuse, mayhem, arsons, and murder.
