On the contrary, it was Paul's opinion which won over Christian thought on the matter for the next 1500 years. Marriage was not required by the Church, you did however need their blessing to fornicate for procreative purposes only. Marriage didn't even become the next best thing to damnation, your betrothal accomplished that. jtb_hypocrite wrote, "It matters not what the puritans did."

Actually it does, dear. You are the one screaming keep your damned hands off the sacred institution of marriage and I was merely pointing out how short that line actually is. But let's refocus on the central theme of Christianity, all sex is sinful. jtb_hypocrite wrote, " What matters is what scripture says be it jesus paul james luke peter etc who said it."

Scripture can be said to say all sorts of things and not all of them most Christians want to continue to agree with. For instance, the New Testament treats slavery as perfectly acceptable, when done right.
jtb_hypocrite wrote, "And your placing marriage just on this side of hell shows your biblical immaturity."

If that's what you want to believe dear, that's your problem, not mine. I see it as demonstrating my ability to read scripture in context and not merely bits and pieces. Paul says that for those unmarried and no longer married, keeping your legs permanently crossed in the name of Jesus is your highest calling, marriage is nothing more than a fallback to save you from damnation for your sins of the flesh. You can't be an actual member of the Catholic Church's family of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters if you are married. That should tell you marriage's place. You failed. jtb_hypocrite wrote, " Try buying a good commentary."

I've read several dear. jtb_hypocrite wrote, " You're a perfect example of the scripture that says we should study to show yourself approved having no reason to be ashamed."

Clearly you have learned the wrong lesson in all that alleged study dear, you have a lot to be ashamed of.
Still waiting for a verse that says all sex in sin. Thats not bible.

Ahhhh. Here is the crux of the matter. You look at pauls writings as "his opinion". Whereas true christianity understands ALL scripture to be God breathed. And is profitable for doctrine correction reproof and instruction in righteousness.

Yes dear, we are all aware that Christians believe that the writers of the biblical books were all merely taking dictation from God, but you're the one interpreting that God breathed message, not God. You're just praying that he agrees with your choices. Good luck with that, I have a feeling you're gonna need it. By the by dear, you might want to look up the definition of righteousness, you are sadly confused by it.

No? Really??? It took you this long to deduce that? OYG. Sweetie, Paul being a widower would mean that he had to have had been married at some point in order to become widowed. Jesus save us from some of your Christians, it's all too clear that they know not what they do. Look at this one.
