Actually, the National Organization for Marriage is done for if the GOP supports marriage equality, because they will lose their primary political affiliation. If the two major parties don't support NOM's bigoted thinking in their official platforms, NOM will be left without a sphere to influence.

I'm sure that Brian Brown is well aware of that fact, and that it's making his colon very, very tight.

I agree.

And while I am NO ta Republican, they would do well to get back to their roots of supporting small government, citizens' Liberties, and Equal Rights upon which they were founded.

If they do that, then NOM will wind up very soon on the ash heap of history along with the Wobblies, the Whigs, and The Democratic Party.

What will fill the void?

Ok Foxie you seem to be in the know! Just what is smaller government I am getting a little sick of hearing that phrase 1, does it mean a reduction in congressmen, senators state legislators? or does it mean less money spent on things funded by taxpayers that directly benefit those taxpayers?
personally I would rather see my tax dollars feed the little kids whose parents lost income in a downed economy than Mario Rubio's fat ass fly in first class

The GOPasaurs are screwed either way. If they continue to oppose marriage equality, they risk losing the entire next generation of voters. If they support marriage equality, they lose their social conservative base.

Add to that the GOPasaurs opposition to immigration reform and their continuing war on women, and it's all good new for the Dems.

Never ask a Republican supporter what "smaller government" actually means, because they are not for such a thing, it's just a catch phrase, like "hope and change," it's to fill the ballot boxes.

You want to know what I mean by "smaller government" ? Ok, Let's start here:

1. Scrap the Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist_Oba maniacist Obamacare which even Democratic Senator Max Baucus now calls a "trainwreck" and is calling for it's repeal.

2. Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

3. Balance the federal budget.

4. Pass a law that will be enforced to pay off teh national debt in 20 years.

5. Eliminate the Dept. Of Education.

6. Eliminate the Dept. Of Energy.

7. Slash the size of the federal government by 50%.

START THERE !

1. The "Obamacare" is actually a slightly modified Republican plan, originally brought to us by a conservative think tank as a way to reduce taxpayer costs for uninsured medical expenses. It is not a well thought out plan, I concur, but it's not just a Democrat idea.

2. Need to tax people for that one unless we reduce a lot of spending, the most of which is actually going to the military. Yes, smaller government does mean a lot less money spent on military, so you're correct there.

3. Redundant, why do you repeat yourself?

4. Redundant again.

5. DoEd? Sure, eliminate the only thing that's helping the US make any actual money, great idea, since they don't make laws though, eliminating them would not decrease the government.

6. DoEn ... off the deeper end, who do you think maintains and organizes the construction of things like ... oh, power lines that allow you access to the energy?

7. How? So far you are just repeating talking points, you offer zero solutions, and nothing of substance, and you still haven't actually offered anything that comes close to a smaller government.

Do you know who has the smallest government? Norway. Did you know they also pay way more taxes than we do? They have fewer laws, regulations, and stupid waste, but they pay more taxes because they also have more social programs. Smaller government means socialism, democracy and republics are not smaller governments at all.

Armed revolution against pour present federal government is a distinct possibility in the near future.

And to anyone who is against such an idea, I remind you to read the text of the U.S. Declaration Of Independence, our FOUNDING DOCUMENT, which SPECIFICALLY STATES, that violent action against the government is our RIGHT.

Um ... no it's not.

Wars in the civilized world are no longer fought with guns, only psychos and criminals use those now. We have been revolting against a lot of governments for almost a decade now, do you ever pay attention to the real news or just what's on TV? You should at least know about the war over SOPA/PIPA. Wars are now fought online, and it will be that way until the end of this planet because things change. So our new revolutionary army is not a bunch of gun toting bullies, it's now a bunch of anonymous cyber bullies who crack security systems like butter ... because they wrote those same security systems all governments use.

Seriously, you are living up to a stereotype, and that annoys me.

Traditional, true conservatives have been questioning the GOP for a long time now. They do some pretty unconservative things. I think another party is rising. Embracing "gay marriage" will take down the GOP and bring the real conservatives out into the open. Wait and see.

Would you like to make a bet that the election in the US in 2016 will be a three-way race? Someone will form a new "Christian Values" party.

Smaller government (Republican definition): More places for the plurocracy to screw everyone else.
