I understand perfectly - you feel your religious views should trump the law.
They don't.

Q: So you have 2 daughters do you love them? Why do you love them?

What? Rights are granted based on how many people are fighting for them or in that group? I guess transgenders are screwed then.
I guess you missed the whole point of rights in our Constitution protecting the rights of the minority. Using your philosophy, black should still be slaves in several states.
I'm still waiting for a legal reason that gays should be allowed to married and family members not. You have yet to provide any. The little tactic of derision doesn't work. And don't worry, everyone can see through it.
No, but its' not really an issue, is it? just a strawman with no stuffing...

I thought that now you had seen the difference between claiming someone to be wrong and proving someone to be wrong, you would like a third opportunity to actually prove that ANYTHING I had said was false. I'm sorry if you didn't want it and were just happy to be seen as someone who clearly doesn't know what they are talking about, but at least I offered.

why are you beating this dead horse.
again, your scenario has been proven to not come true...
why do you feel you have to make up already proven wrong scenarios in an attempt to deny yoru fellow citizens marriage? how would SSM harm you in any way?
Family members are also US citizens.

Civil unions give gays a legal relationship. Rights and laws are different in this country that others so nothing has been proven wrong.

Why won't you just admit you are fine with bias, discrimination, and withholding of rights as long as it isn't for your pet group of people?

What is a strawman? That you are not truly for marriage equality?

So, here is an interesting question;
If the federal gov't decides that gays have the right to marry, what possible argument could be made against me marrying my son or grandson. There are benefit/tax advantages to doing so (which is what the gays are seeking).
So, what legal argument could be made against it?
Marriage is a contract of kinship between two people who are otherwise legal strangers to one another and it provides for a preferential status for those former legal strangers over the legal kinships they were born with. Your son, etc are already in a legal kinship with you and while it does not give you all the rights, benefits etc of the marriage contract, it gives you a hell of a lot more rights than those of anyone you aren't legally related to, no matter how long you are together. When one marries one of your already legal kin, that interferes with the inherent rights of the rest and that the state has a compelling interest that is served by not doing that.

I don't suppose this thought this ever occurred to you, but if you take same sex couples entirely out of the picture, wouldn't the same question still be out there as long as someone is wanting to marry a relative of the opposite sex? A brother and sister do fit that definition of marriage being between a man and a woman, now don't they?

I've played with her before, she usually doesn't like posting at me for obvious reasons. This is how all our discussions usually play out.
