Tell you what, let me use the Levitican Holiness code and dig into everybody's lives and I'm pretty sure I can find a reason to kill every single person I meet.

I'll start with the preachers who want to kill me.

Why do these red-necked preacher boys always look like they're seconds away from grabbing a feather boa and singing show tunes in falsetto?

Seneca, Kansas, is a little podunk town of less than 2,000 people in the middle of nowhere ... it's the seat of a rural, backwards county.

I always wonder how these stories come to be publicized. Did one of the church's 75 attendees just happen to bring a recording device and then alert the national media? Or is this brief flare-up all the pastor's doing, his inept way of achieving his 15 minutes of fame?

No matter. He's not worth the time I took to write this post.

Someone needs to inform this fake 'pastor' that America is not a theocracy
.
The United States Supreme Court's 1948 Wall of Separation decision is the Law of the Land:
.
++++++++++
"We find that the basic Constitutional principle of absolute separation was violated when the State of Illinois, speaking through its Supreme Court, sustained the school authorities of Champaign in sponsoring and effectively furthering religious beliefs by its educational arrangement. Separation means separation, not something less. Jefferson's metaphor in describing the relation between church and state speaks of a "wall of separation," not of a fine line easily overstepped. The public school is at once the symbol of our democracy and the most pervasive means for promoting our common destiny. In no activity of the state is it more vital to keep out divisive forces than in its schools, to avoid confusing, not to say fusing, what the Constitution sought to keep strictly apart. "The great American principle of eternal separation"--Elihu Root's phrase bears repetition--is one of the vital reliances of our Constitutional system for assuring unities among our people stronger than our diversities. It is the Court's duty to enforce this principle in its full integrity. We renew our conviction that "we have staked the very existence of our country on the faith that complete separation between the state and religion is best for the state and best for religion." (Justice Felix Frankfurter, U. S. Supreme Court, in McCollum v. Board of Education, 1948)

Tell that to the homophobes who use Leviticus to justify their hatred for LGBT people.

I like your thought process......if they want to open up this fight.....then let's dig into their very lives.....they don't know us and to make this comment is just nuts on their part.

Last time I looked.....I still lived in California, which is still part of the United States of America.

This is true. Christians did not exist during Leviticus's stone carving days. Without twitter; they had no way of knowing
.
The very last verse in Leviticus clearly describes who Leviticus applies to:
.
++++++++++
Leviticus 27:34> These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
++++++++++
.
There are four places in the world where Children of Israel reenactors better watch out for Leviticus reenactors:
.
Mount Sinai, Egypt
Mount Sinai, Singapore
Mount Sinai, Indiana
Mount Sinai, New York
.
Make a note of it

How truly Christian of him. Obviously his powers of telepathy has taught him how to read everyone else's state of mind when thinking of sex.
He looks gay to me and I've got great gaydar. He is just one more fantasy-minded individual self-loathing closeted fag, masquerading as a straight man, as a preacher so he won't have to answer questions about being his age with no wife or children.
I guess he forgot to read that line of gods that says "Love thy neighbor as thyself." or "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Hadn't heard of the good Pastor until this and with any luck he'll inflict his fifteen minutes of miserable fame and disappear.

My question is, why would it be the government's job to do God's dirty work? It's not our fault that these allegedly good christians don't have the stones (in more ways than one) to practice what they preach, why should our tax dollars go to make up for their shortcomings? Besides, if we give them a foot in the door on the stoned homos thing, what about all the other laws in the OT that call for killing? Are they gonna want us to take care of those too, or are they gonna just kind of sort of forget the 30 other occasions calling for rocks and/or burning alive? What about other religions and their death for sinners statutes, are we gonna have to enforce those as well?

So much for standing firm in your professions of faith. "Lord, we really, really wanted to stone you some f*ggots, but darn it, the gov'mint just won't do what you tell us, I mean tell them and they just won't let us get away with doing it ourselves and so, long story short, it's not getting done. Hope that's cool with you. Love, Pastor Knapp."

I never claimed to be a christian, but I do seem to remember that this whole issue was addressed by Jesus himself in the passages around the line, "Let he among you who is without sin..." and I'm pretty sure he was talking about rock flinging both literal and figurative. But hey, that's just me. If the good Pastor wants to preach a brand of christianity that pretty much gives the finger to Jesus own teachings, his problem isn't with us.

The pastor is no better than a terrorist then. I know someone that is gay that said if this country legalized putting all homosexuals to death he would take out as many of the bigots that were trying to have him killed before they eventually outnumbered and killed him. He said he'd had the satisfaction of taken some out of this world and he doesn't care how they bleed.

I think it's about time gays get licensed to carry and learn self-defense. Religious terrorists are dangerous. I know that if someone tries to put me to death I'll return the favor. It's called self-defense. Tell that to that pastor and whatever government officials agree with him.

The FBI should keep a close watch on that pastor.

Rick, those people are no different than terrorists. They ARE terrorists! They want to freaking kill us! How are they any different than the radicals over in the Mideast? Just because they are Christians and not Muslims doesn't mean they are any less of a terrorist. Of course not all Christians and Muslims are terrorists but the one's that want people kill in the name or religion are and they should be investigated and prosecuted if possible.
