Atheists can be homophobic and sexist, too
This week, the rights of women and LGBTQ people have been a big topic of discussion in the atheist blogosphere-with some asking whether or not homophobic or sexist atheists actually exist.

Once again, more roboblogger bullshit.
Yes, there are scumbags in the atheist community (e.g. Michael Shermer) but no more by percentage than among the religious. The difference is, atheists don't lie and pretend that the scumbags aren't atheists. The first thing christards do when a christian gets caught murdering or raping is say "He's not a TRUE christian!!!!!!"
Atheists don't pretend to be perfect, but the religitards sure do.

This article doesn't matter.
The vast underpinning of the homophobia industry is fundie cretins. Whether they have public relations agitators running around pretending to be atheist homophobes, or whether there's some small cohort of actual atheist homophobes, is beside the main point. It's all about the mullahs.

Is this really a revelation? really??
There are plenty of anti-gay atheists just as there as anti or pro whatever atheists. They're not a separate class

Apparently you don't understand basic concepts such as, "where are the preponderance of homophobic agitators to be found?"
It ain't in the atheist ranks. It's in the mullah ranks.
That you can say out of all the hundreds of millions of people in the Western countries that some atheists will be homophobes is not saying anything. They exist almost at the level of anecdote.
The statistics point to the area of the problem: Ultra "religious" theocrats.

Is this a case of pointing a finger at a few atheists and screeching from behind the curtain "Look over there!"?
Pay no attention to what the many righteous men are doing behind that curtain.

One other good point is that there is not a group of atheists going around state to state to stop same-sex marriage. Nor is there the use of a deity to demonstrate the reason there should not be secular laws for homosexuals to marry.
