It's the same thing. Oh, except telling them about germs would have been productive.
The Bible contains many rituals that are completely arbitrary. Telling people to bath and cook differently wouldn't have been any different, except, again, it would have been productive., that should change the way they bath and cook, and go to a hospital...
So why doesn't the Bible contain such information? Because the people who wrote it HAD NO IDEA about germs. The Bible god knows nothing about germs.
