Domestic Partner Bill Dies In Wyoming, Civil Unions Advance In CO

Victory in Wyoming looked slim, but in the end, victory was elusive. The Wyoming House of Representatives failed to pass domestic partnerships by a vote of 24 to 34. The bill may be able to pass next session, but it may be moot fairly soon.

Darn. I thought it might have stood a chance considering it was passed out of committe on a 7-2 vote.

It will be two years before another bill is introduced in Wyoming. Wyoming spends every other year in a budget session. But this year was a banner year in Wyoming. The first time in a long time when there was no anti-gay legislation introduced. The first time that any gay supportive bills even got out of committee. I have a feeling some of the representatives will lose their next election because of their vote on this issue and they way they spoke in committee. Wyoming is not religious-right type of conservative. It won't be long before the correct people are in to get this passed.

It should be noted that Wyoming has never passed a single law for or against gays. Every anti-gay bill ever introduced has been shot down as well. Wyoming is very much a state that doesn't really like to mess with things either way. They'd rather have no law on the book than an anti-gay one. They are a proud bunch of old-school conservatives (not like the current GOP as long as we don't let the fanatics start to take over in our state like they have the rest of the GOP in this country).

Your own relationship does not promote or champion the principles or building blocks and structure of sustainable life. Therefore until you repair or mend the defect you have chosen to engage in you could never be equal.

The subversion and decadence of this nation will be of its undoing. It has nothing to do with an extraordinary event more so than it does applying common sense within your governing process.

Mother Nature speaks to us in many ways and sadly we humans rufuse to listen.
