If you people could only ( at least occasionally ) say something one could respect , even if unsympathetic , the world would in turn listen to your arguments with the awe you obviously aim at .. As it is , you'll continue to be disregarded by all but the most primitive of your fellow citizens ..

Topix doesn't allow enough positive "like" icons to be attached to a post, to accurately reflect how I feel about this statement.

These neanderthals will never get it. NEVER. They keep thinking that insults, lies, and 4th-grade-level comments about "poopy" and "weenies" will make the world listen to them. They keep thinking that this is how adults talk. They wonder why state after state, judge after judge, law after law comes down against them. But WE don't wonder.

I do what I can to speak logically and maturely about these subjects. I see you do the same thing. It isn't tough. We ALL have a brain to let us do that, even if some choose not to use it. Websites like Topix make it FUN to watch these childish mooks embarass themselves. The real world makes it fun to watch them fail at every step.

It's sad that there are still fools like this in the world, and that they will continue to teach their brand of foolishness to their children, or to their friends and neighbors. But, once people learn REAL truths about their fellow human beings, gained through real, face-to-face interactions, they don't go back to those old standards of prejudice and mischaracterization.

We can only hope that someday, people like JrEsq and Pittsfield, MA, will have an epiphany, maybe based on a close relative or friend reaching their hearts, but I'm not holding my breath. They'll have something idiotic and reactionary to say in reply to my post, full of misspellings, and honestly, I look forward to it. I couldn't (and shouldn't) hope for a thoughtful, eloquent and reasoned response. It would upset the balance of the world. We wouldn't want our struggle to be TOO easy. It would rob us of character.

And we can see the result of that.

Thanks for your post.

And yet after all that you still can't refute my assertion that 2 "Heterosexual" men should NEVER be afforded the oppurtunity to raise a child because it denies a child the basic "Human" right to have a "Female" mother.

We are already blessed with a close relative aka bisexual that has been through 4 marriages now and she is one of the most hideous, greedy, narcissist bitches around. She earned her solitaire long before anyone even knew she was bi after two of her husbands died.
She's sooooo special....

They do it all the time, and they can do it whenever they want, stooge. The movie "Signs" is fiction, but it surely represents PLENTY of men who have lost their wives, and now raise their children with the help of their brothers. A grandfather and his son may raise the son's child. The world is FULL of these "alternate" families, raising children in a myriad of situations. No one is out taking their children FROM them. Even a single father "denies" a child its female mother, but no one is out stopping this from happening.

You people talk big, saying ANY lies to stop gay people from marrying, as if that will somehow magically stop them from raising children. But it WON'T. And YOU won't raise a FINGER to stop ANY family from raising children in a way that you don't approve.

REALLY? Wow! That ONE person (whom you CLAIM to know) must represent ALL of humanity! I should just chuck my life and my partner, and strive to mirror this rumored person that you obviously have so much love for. How could anyone be any different from the ONE example that you've experienced? I must be crazy to think that different people are DIFFERENT. I should learn to see things in the absolutist, black-and-white way that you apparently do. I'm sure I'd be much happier. Hideous, greedy, narcissistic and bitchy, but happier. Right?

If the 2 heterosexual men are of good quality and mature enough to do the job there is no earthly reason why they shouldn't be allowed to raise a child .. Better even one single solitary good parent than ten bad ones .. It most certainly takes a man and a woman to make a child ; but that fact alone won't guarantee the child's future welfare.. Quality is everything in parentage , not sexual orientation .. Go into any bully-ridden school yard or any time-wasting cyber and you'll soon see what I mean .. Children are a reflection of their parents ; and many times that reflection is that of a badly distorted mirror .

That didn't make a bit of sense.

Why would a single straight dad and his Father be denied the opportunity to raise their son/grandson?

In what alternate world do YOU live in, where a child will always be taken from any parent who is not legally married to a person of the opposite gender?

It is a FACT that children brought up in a single parent home are at a disadvantage when they grow up, proven FACT.
Two people of the ss are sure to make it even worse and said child is literally guaranteed to have an "Identity crisis" growing up.
When the state is involved in child placement they should always ensure a 'male' father' and 'female' mother for any child.
Of course you would disagree you have a mental illness.
