Isn't a case challenging DOMA in the lower federal courts kind of useless now since SCOTUS is going to rule on it's constitutionality in approx. 9 weeks ?

And as far as immigration to the U.S. is concerned, there should NO immigration allowed to the U.S. by ANYONE at ANY time for ANY reason.

There are TOO many people living in the U.S. already. JUST SAY "NO !"

If people want to immigrate to the Americas, then let them go to one of the "Workers' Paradise'es" known as "Cuba" or "The People's Demokratik Socialist Republik Of Kanada".

The Supreme Court makes up its own rules concerning what cases they will hear, how long they will listen to the arguements, what arguements can be presented, how long they will take to make a decision after hearing a case, etc. Since they make their own rules, you never know just how the current justices will act or when they may make a decision. They might want a year or 2 to mull over their decision while they hear other cases on the docket. Besides, until the Supreme Court rules, there is no reason to stop the lower courts from hearing cases...especially cases that challenge the law from a different perspective that could wind up in the Supreme Court.
