From a Christian perspective, it still boils down to whether the Bible includes homosexuality among sins. From a state perspective, it boils down to whether the law and, to some extent, society see homosexuality as something which it sees as good and valuable to the state and to society. It is clear that the two -- church and state can have different views in a variety of things, including homosexuality. Hence the separation of church and state. If there is acceptance and tolerance, Christians (and other religions) will not try to force their opinions onto the godless state and the godless state and its promoters will not try to force their opinion upon Christians (and those who follow other religions). It is also true that those who view homosexuality as a sin have the same right to express their opinion and beliefs in public as do those who view homosexuality as something good and wholesome.
Christians do not walk out of their churches and homes and cease to be Christians anymore than godless politicians and judges walk out of their government buildings and homes and cease being godless people.
In America, every one has the right to have an opinion and express their opinion from the most ultra conservative, Bible-thumping fundamentalist to the godless, secular socialist - both of whom to claim to be looking out for the interests of America. It is this right of opinion and speech that makes America great, even though we often do not agree with each other. We still respect all people and the right to their opinions and beliefs.

There is a backlash against GLAAD for its spokesman declaring who is and isn't a true Christian!

This looks to be a replay of Chick-fil-A.

Funny how the very ones who scream for tolerance are the most intolerant of opposing views especially traditional Christian Biblical based views.

I am very tolerant of his views. He is still wrong. When asked the question he could have simply said that he takes a biblical view and that he would be returning home to stone his defiant sons as directed by the Bible. I understand that.

I support is views, its a free country... And I am tolerant of such, you, him, whoever are free to view things however you like. I don't watch the show, but if I did, that's a comment I would think would come from him. It would not change my viewership of the program. Did you ever think it was just a publicity stunt of A&E? New season Jan 15th ... Way to blow up ratings.

Cracker Barrel backed away from the GLAAAD people.

A&E's homosexual executive is currently in boiling water and says they should have just taken Duck Dynasty off the air for two weeks instead of attempting to disgrace Phil, at the GLAAAD people's begging, while simultaneously running a Duck Dynasty marathon and advertising non-stop Season 5 of Duck Dynasty which begins anon. The GLAAAD people didn't think this through (what else is new) and are now suffocating themselves in GLAD bags--although that's none of anyone's business and is in the privacy of their boudoir.

The GLAAAD people have lost Round 1 and if they have any sense will remember this beatdown.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This Godless state forces its views and opinions about those engaging in same sex acts on people and school children. Even going so far as to arrest a parent by the name of David Parker in 2005 here in Asschewsetts. I support the separation of Synagogue and state. Good luck with that.

Maybe he should declare who is or isn't a true homosexual. We are all homo sapiens. And in this nation we are very very screwed up Homo sapiens thanks to the Jewish spawned sexual regressive movement here in hell, er um America.

You can't have it both ways. Either you stand by your love everyone remarks, or you stand by the bigoted condemnation of your fellow man. You can't love and cast judgement at the same time. This basically illustrates the definition of hypocrisy.

That is why I think biblethumping haters should all move to Greenland or Austria and go yodel in the valley. If this is the same Phil Robertson who ran for prezident all he has to do look what happened to his Moral Majority which was neither just a bunch of homeschooled snakehandling hippocrites.

1-Pat Robertson of the 700Club ran for President(with an 's') in 1988AD.
2-Rev. Jerry Falwel was head of The Moral Majority which was both.
3-Phil Robertson would enjoy yodelling in your valley even w/o his duckcall while you could handle his snake.
4-You are the epitome of what is wrong with our country today.
5-Read your Bible and try some target-practice!

You said the same thing about George Zimmerman.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters)- Cable network A&E said on Friday that Phil Robertson will be allowed to re-join his family in the hit reality show "Duck Dynasty," less than two weeks after the patriarch was suspended over anti-gay comments.

Robertson's remarks to GQ magazine and his subsequent suspension by A&E sparked a nationwide debate over tolerance and religion, with conservative politicians and fans saying that Robertson's beliefs were consistent with the Bible ...

Consistent with the Bible, but not with TEC.

Joe obviously you are an Episcopal Church hater, so why do bother posting here? Seems rather silly. You don't really say anything, you make no valid points, nothing of even remote substance. I can at least respect "Think Again" for doing their best to make valid arguments. You, well not so much.

Misogyny, homophobia and a desire to go back to slavery isn't that where all the colored laughed and sang while they worked better they ate watermelon too, eh Phil, is not my idea of a Christian culture. But the lines have been drawn clearly. Unless we want to live like it was 1814 and not like it will be 2014 then we progressives better be prepared to fight.

Fight is not a word I think I would use...and I am not so sure I am "progressive". I however do think we as a people have alot of educating to do. There are plenty of people who will never change, like most that counter on these forums, they are hardline, and their stances will never sway. They already know all that is to be known. What we as a people need to do, if allow them all the light they need. They tend to sink themselves over time, same as the hardline racist did in the 60's. Their time has come and gone, we my friend need just be patient.
