Marriage Equality Fails In The In-Equality State

Jan 28, 2013 | Posted by: Sei | Full story: lezgetreal.com

In the face of a strong amount of misinformation and hateful rhetoric, the Wyoming House Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions Committee backed domestic partnerships and rejected true marriage equality. Opponents to marriage equality, which failed by one vote in the nine person committee, used erroneous and inaccurate claims about morality and public health concerns.

Can't win them all.. especially where inaccuracies, and made-to-order notions of morality step in.. ridiculous, this public health bit.. But they'll come around eventually.. Stupidity is a slow-moving monster..

This is terrible and sad.:(

Too bad they did not have the courage to live up to their obviously undeserved state nickname of "The Equality State".

Now that we are going into African nations where the hell are all those left wing anti Bush war protesters? Last I checked, there are NO WMD there or in Libya. "No boots on the ground in Libya!"
What a bunch of liars, cowards, warmongers, perverts, and decadent frauds.
We stole this land from the color red broke every treaty and look at what we've done to it and gave them in return.

It actually says that?
Wow, and here I thought they might argue that it's vague.
It is blatantly going against their values.

C'mon people, this is STILL a WIN.

ONE VOTE.

5-4

The marriage bill only failed by ONE VOTE in a committe DOMINATED by Republicans 7-2.

AND the civil unions bill PASSED by a 7-2 vote.

A little perspective is in order here.

Thank you, Sheeple! I for one would love to see civil unions in any state where that is possible, but marriage equality is not yet achievable.

Having a legislature in the Plains vote in any sort of equality is a major advance!

I know!

How people can see this as anything but a victory is beyond me.

Btw, I think Wyoming is actually considered a western mountain state, not a plains state.

Yes, that is a quote. Seems pretty clear doesn't it.

Unfortunately, many hard core religious folks including Mormons, want to keep the government from following the Golden Rule.
