Yes, stay in your churches and do nothing but pray where you belong, in the mean time the real world will continue to advance, progress, and improve.

As to the clerks, as long as they are abiding by the law, not much that can be done, that's their jobs. Change the laws, then they can be fired for such nonsense.

As I just posted, on that site, in case my comment is censored and removed by bigots:

----------

If the religitards don't want to do their jobs, they should QUIT or be FIRED. It's not their place to set policy nor to inflict their religious filth upon the public.

Claiming they have "moral objection" to selling marriage licenses to gay couples is as stupid and bigoted as saying they have a "moral objection" to selling marriage licenses to black/white couples.

Currently they aren't required to, but with the state's ban being challenged in court, this too shall change. These clerks best work on their coping skills for the day their bigotry is no longer official state policy.

Just goes to show you can change laws in favor of decency and morality but you will have to be ever vigilant of the hate and bigotry that festers in some people's hearts. Decent people will NEVER accept hate as the status quo.

Decent people recognize the freedom of their fellow citizens, and respect their right to pursue happiness. Only xenophobic control-freaks with supernatural delusions of self-grandeur feel the need to stifle people who are different from themselves, or declare it "immoral" for someone to enjoy something that they don't.

Start acting decent.

I'm a gay man and though I wish PA had not passed such a hateful law, I have no problem with clerks obeying it.

It's when the laws change and they want to disobey it that we have a problem.

The homophobes have done everything they can to make marriage nothing but the human equivalent of registering a bitch to breed at a puppy farm. Then they complain that everything is about sex!

You Queers are Liars, Haters,& Bigots
Homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). It can be expressed as antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, or hatred, may be based on irrational fear, and is sometimes related to religious beliefs.

Recognized types of homophobia include institutionalized homophobia, e.g. religious homophobia and state-sponsored homophobia, and internalized homophobia, experienced by people who have same-sex attractions, regardless of how they identify. Forms of homophobia toward identifiable LGBT social groups have similar yet specific names: lesbophobia – the intersection of homophobia and sexism directed against lesbians, biphobia – towards bisexuality and bisexual people, and transphobia, which targets transsexualism, transsexual and transgender people, and gender variance or gender role nonconformity.

Coined by George Weinberg, a psychologist, in the 1960s, the term homophobia is a blend of the word homosexual, itself a mix of neo-classical morphemes, and phobia from the Greek ;, Phóbos, meaning "fear" or "morbid fear". Weinberg is credited as the first person to have used the term in speech. The word homophobia first appeared in print in an article written for the May 23, 1969, edition of the American tabloid Screw, in which the word was used to refer to heterosexual men's fear that others might think they are gay.

George Weinberg is a Manhattan psychotherapist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, a Masters Degree in English from New York University, and advanced training in mathematical statistics. He has written twelve books and is published in twenty-three languages. He has also written for popular and professional journals, and for television.

Weinberg is known for several major contributions to psychotherapy. He coined the word “homophobia”(in his revolutionary 1972 book, Society and the Healthy Homosexual) to propose that those who harbor prejudice against homosexuals, and not homosexuals themselves, are suffering from a psychological malady, an irrational state of mind. Weinberg, though heterosexual himself, became a leader in the ultimately successful struggle to have homosexuality removed as a diagnostic category from the DSM, the professional therapeutic handbook. He has been instrumental in shifting public perception of homosexuality.

Shall we talk about how you react when someone like me posts a Bible passage and you insist I am somehow twisting something I am simply quoting directly from Biblegateway.com ?

Or would you prefer to discuss why my posting Matthew 25:31-46 on a "christian website" The Free Republic got me banned from their site?

To me, the problem is you don't like the answers that others find.

Now tell me where you're planning on getting the get out of jail free card when it comes to Matthew 25:31-46?

You sure don't practice what that part of the Bible teaches.

You think people hate you? Sure some do, but most of it is a moral standard a homosexual will never understand.
You are pushing Queerdom, into the face of people that do not accept it, or want it their lives or any where near their kids.

move to a country that accepts this chosen perversion, YES chosen. Read Roman 1:26-32 for a full understanding of your lust.

Buttercup, why don't YOU try reading the rest of Romans 1 that you just declared irrelevant to the last 7 verses, you have a lot to learn. Then begin reading chapter 2, although I should warn you that Paul is going to rip you a new one for the stunt you are trying to pull here.

If you want to pray that God hates us as much as you have CHOSEN to, that's between you and him, but from what I've read of the Bible, you really shouldn't be blaming it or God for your dubious choice of readings.

If a poster refrains form insults and personal attacks, they aren't thrown off. Are you telling us that you, and he, are not capable of doing that? That says a lot about your problems.

If love, family, and marriage are one accepted part of the moral standard for heterosexuals, why is it not also part of the moral standard for gay people? Why the double standard?

Why would you believe that gay people are subject to different moral standards? If it is good for YOU, why isn't it good for the gay couple next door?

It's not like being gay is a negative trait, or that gay folks harm society in any way.

Oh, boo hoo. We see hideous posts on here constantly, some times actual death threats, stuff that makes your quaint taunts look almost harmless, and most are left alone, I note. Besides, WHO CARES? Anything posted over a day or so ago is quickly forgotten, never to be mentioned or read again. I used to wonder if Topix kept it in some file, but on occasion something will pop up from a year ago, which is surprising. Besides, I see most of your bon motts are staying in place lately.

And you read ALL of Romans so you can see Paul was writing about how people like YOU behave!

Romans 2

New International Version (NIV)
God’s Righteous Judgment

2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”[a] 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism.

12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

But what did Paul say in Colossians 1:16?
New Living Translation (©2007)
for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

And then in Galatians Paul writes:
New Living Translation (©2007)
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28

Shall I discuss how poorly we see you following the Word of Jesus when you ignore Matt 25-31-46 in the way you treat gays and lesbians?

Let's make a deal. When you start living by the book you claim to live by, I'll come over and we won't have roast pork for dinner.
