Again, precisely the same arguments were used against black/white marriage. Just substitute "black" for "gay" in the above rant and you have what was said up to what, 50 years ago? Is marriage between races constitutional? I don't even know if the constitution has anything specific to say about that, but if it did, given that the framers were slaveholders, I'd bet it would prohibit it. And so what? Cultural institutions are just that. If you want to see examples of truly bizarre cultures, go look at the old movie: "Marjoe", and the more recent one: "Hysteria".

In fact, at the time the U.S. Constitution was ratified, many states prohibited black Americans from marrying ANYONE AT ALL, even other black people. And I think that many Americans today mistakenly believe that the northern states never had slavery, while the southern states did. This is untrue. MANY nothern states allowed slavery in the decades after The Revolutionary War. New York was the leading northern slave state, and slavery was not abolished in New York until 1827.

Rhode Island had slavery until at least 1840. Pennsylvania had slavery until at least 1847. Connecticut had slavery until at least 1848. And New Hampshire (The "Live Free Or Die" state) and New Jersey had slavery until after the end of The War between The States in 1865.

And while slavery existed even in the nortern states, many state laws prohibited teh marriage or slaves, or required their "owner"'s permission to marry.

And while slavery may have been legal and constitutional at one time in the U.S., fundamentally no human can "own" another human no more so than they can "own" the sea or the sky.

Which rights our those? I'm guessing that you chose not to accept one of those ungodly civil marriages licenses when you were married in your church, right?

You spurned all of those ungodly benefits and protections! You file your taxes separately! You don't take those heathen tax deductions for your kids!

And, if you outlive your spouse, you are perfectly happy to do God's will by paying inheritance tax on your estate, and you laugh at the idea that you would sully your faith with social security survivor benefits!

But you've already failed it--the liberals didn't want to see you; Scalia is the one who took advantage of your mistake, and he will have it wrought into our law that you do not have a Constitutional right--and that will make all the difference.

You'd immediately get 50 states, plus federal.

You forgot to ask "american lady' if she also withholds wages from workers. The Bible clearly states that holding back wages is against "God's Law". Wages must be paid the day they are earned according to Scripture.

Overturning Baker?

Do you even know what that actually means?

Overturning Baker would simply strip the state of MN from it's claim that SSM is a State's Rights issue and that there is no Constitutional Question in the Baker case. Overturning Baker?

Explain how SSM is allowed under Federal Law (DOMA) if Baker is the standard legal Federal precedent you portray.
