GOP debate: Romney, Santorum grilled on gay rights
Mitt Romney was reminded Sunday morning on the NBC/Facebook debate stage of a pledge he made in 1984, that he would "be a voice in the Republican Party to foster anti-discimination efforts" in the gay community.

Opposing "Same Sex Marriage" is discrimination pure and simple. It is treating Gay and Lesbian individuals that are legally married as second class citizens.

I'm glad Romney only needs to answer questions he wants to answer - because, as president, he'll get that choice...
And for Santorum... what did the moderator expect him to respond with to "What if your son were gay?"??? Unless you're a drunken moron, your answer will most likely reflect his - regardless of the truth. It's a stupid hypothetical, with an equally stupid answer. IF it did happen, I suspect him embracing his son and pulling a Cheney....As much as I dislike him, I genuinely feel he's a family man,..he's just too stupid to realize this CAN include gays.
The moderators should really include stats with these kinds of questions so that they can't just give Santorum-style answers of "...nobody should be discriminated against", while pretty much stating there's no reason for ENDA since this would be special treatment. Or give specific scenarios for DADT to prevent Santorum from stupidly claiming ...no one should involve others in their private sex-lives - ignoring that there's a double standard there. "Man talking about a trip with his wife" - OK!, "Man talking about a trip with his husband" ...might as well be talking about sex-positions.
If anything, I think the questions made Santorum look good and gay rights groups look like whiny jerks

You simply cannot use logic to debate people who are incapable of logic. But it is important to realize that these heterosexist fools actually think LGBT citizens aren't discriminated against and have "full rights" now.

Romney never did get pinned down. It's easy: If the right wing freeeks and liars think there is a federal Constitutional right for married couples to use birth control (Griswold) then the freeeks have just agreed there is a right to privacy in the Constitution.
But they can't admit that due to Roe and marriage equality and even Lawrence. So Romney kept weaving.
He's really slimy, so it comes naturally. You can see Ex Sen. Frothy Lube squirm more when he is confronted.
Also, contrary to the post above, Santorum would not pull a Cheney if he had a glbt child. Santorum would mouth love while trying to squash the child's sexuality. Not even Cheney was that vile.

Weel except for the "drunken" part of "drunken moron", I think you described Santorum to a "T".
