When does 613 = 2? When Jesus Does the Math

613 – that’s how many specific commandments are in the Old Testament. That’s how many rules the Israelites had to follow.

248 “thou shalts” and 365 “thou shalt nots.” I’d write the whole list, but it would dramatically increase the length of this post. These aren’t the Ten Commandments, but ten of the commandments.

Don’t blaspheme the name of God (Exodus 22:27)
Imitate God’s ways (Deuteronomy 6:16)
Honor the elderly.(Leviticus 19:32)
Read the Shema in the morning and at night.(Deuteronomy 6:7)
Don’t sell a beautiful woman who is captured in war (Deuteronomy 21:14)
Leave the corner of your fiend for the poor.(Leviticus 19:9)
Rest on the Sabbath.(Exodus 23:12)
Don’t eat winged insects.(Deuteronomy 14:19)
Don’t take a bribe.(Exodus 23:8)
Don’t plant herbs in a vineyard (Deuteronomy 22:9)

Avoiding eating insects is incredibly wise advice in my opinion. Be sure you keep that in mind the next time you’re tempted to eat a cricket. And I completely agree with refusing to sell a girl captured in war. I also recommend you not capture people.

God gave all of these laws to his people to distinguish them from all the other nations on earth. They weren’t meant to be a random checklist, but a mark of the covenant relationship. God knew the people wouldn’t be successful keeping all 613 laws, no matter how hard they tried, so he gave them a system to receive forgiveness and atone for their sins.

Look in New Testament and you’ll find there was a group of people who didn’t like Jesus. Jesus claimed to be God’s son and said he had the power to forgive sins. The religious leaders, who made their living off the sacrificial system prescribed in the Old Testament felt threatened by his message of grace and faith. They looked for every opportunity to discredit him.

One day, they approached him with a trick question.“What’s the most important commandment,” they asked. They didn’t ask this question because they wanted to know the answer. They asked it because they wanted to trap him.

They hoped his answer would give them the opportunity to bring him down. If he said,“Do not murder” was the most important, they would have accused him of being soft on stealing. If he had answered,“Do not commit adultery,” they would have accused him of not taking truth telling more serious. If he brought one law to the forefront, they were prepared to question his commitment to the other 612.

People tried to trap Jesus with questions like this all the time. Sometimes he came back with an indirect answer. Sometimes, he told a story that left people scratching their heads. But this time, he answered the question.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the greatest commandment,” Jesus said.

“And the second greatest is this,” he continued.“Love your neighbor just like you love yourself.” For added emphasis he added,“All the commandments hinge on these two things.”

Boom.

The Pharisees trying to trick Jesus didn’t expect an answer, but they got a whale of one. Jesus took all 613 laws they carefully tried to keep and summed them up in two powerful statements.

Love God and love people.

If you love God, you won’t make idols, take his name in vain or forget to honor Him, obeying Him in everything the scriptures teach. If you love your neighbor, you won’t tell them lies or try to feed them insects.

Christianity really is incredibly simple.

Homo-Sexuals:

The relevant passage is the very first: God, Adam & Eve.

That is the God-designed world.

After that is the human-designed world.

Simple enough for even a child to grasp, which they do, which is why you need indoctrination.

No need for you Homo-Sexuals to do cartwheels and handstands on top of the Sears Tower trying to explain away what the God-designed world was.

It is ludircrous and dishonest to try to deny the irrefutable fact that the Bible repeatedly condemns and prohibits all homoseual acts in the plainest of terms and in both Testaments.

There is no Bible translation, ancient Bible text, or Judeo-Christian tradition that plces this fact in question.

What did Jesus mean when he suggested that there was no one among them who would not immediately rescue their prize bull if it had fallen into a well on the Sabath?

You have to make up your own 'bible,' since you can cite no ancient text, Bible translation, or Judeo-Christian tradition that places in question the Bible's many commands against all homosexual behavior.

Sad.

Where do you think that and your lie about being a "Rev." will get you?

Sorry you feel that way. Why do you think it's a lie?

What did Jesus mean when he suggested that there was no one among them who would not immediately rescue their prize bull if it had fallen into a well on the Sabbath?

Also,...
If you would please,...

Lay out the explanation for how ANY behavior that goes against ANY of the Bible's many commands is permissible. If you can't manage that, then pick just one and explain how THAT ONE Biblical command has been overruled and by whom.

TheVeryUnRev. Ken, Servant of Satan
since you can cite no ancient text, Bible translation, or Judeo-Christian tradition that places in question the Bible's many commands against all homosexual behavior, so you try to change the subject.

You are a fraud. You obviously have no real familiarity with the Bible, quoting passages that do not exist and opposing the many that condemn and prohibit all homosexual behavior.

An example of a Biblical command that was rescinded is one that you radical homosexuals often misuse. As a law of separation of Israel from the world, the eating of shellfish was prohibited. Inspired by Jesus, this law was rescinded in the New Testament, when the Gospel was sent forth to the whole world.

Do you think you dodge hides the fact that you can make no rational case against the Bible's many commands against all homosexual behavior?

Leviticus 18:22 - You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 - If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
Romans 1:26-27 - For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
I Corinthians 6:9(NIV)- Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
I Timothy 1:8-11 (NASB)- "But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted."
Jude 1:6-7 (NASB)- And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

The word and concept of a "homosexual" was not part of the lexicon.

Wrong again; here's what it says:
.
++++++++++
1 Corinthians 6:9> Know yee not that the vnrighteous shall not inherite the kingdome of God? Be not deceiued: neither fornicatours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselues with mankinde,
.
1 Corinthians 6:10> Nor theeues, nor couetous, nor drunkards, nor reuilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
++++++++++
.
Notice how there are no homosexuals anywhere in Corinthians
.
So you job is to figure out where you screwed up spreading false religion before the True Christians feed you to the lions
