When the words "I'm sorry" are followed with a plea to the judge for a lighter sentence, I don't think they constitute much of an apology. They sound more like a self-serving manipulation to my ears.

"brutal anti-gay hate attack"

Ever notice that when a queer gets into a little scuffle it's always "brutal", "attack", "hate crime". If it wasn't a queer it would just be a couple of people getting into an argument.

I think they should be sentenced to life in prison in solitary confinement.

I find it interesting that they only posted a picture of the victim not the attacker wonder why they did that. And of course this guy is just playing the system.

Because my suggestion is perfectly legal. And since prisons have a legal obligation to keep inmates safe, your suggestion may leave teh prsion open to a lawsuit.

I completely agree that was certainly strange.

"Prosecutors asked the court to send Anthony Jenkins to prison for more than 19 years and Jason Jenkins for nearly 34 years, saying they abducted Pennington because he is gay. They called the attack "horrific and violent" and said the suspects "intended to kill him."

I wondered the same thing. Uusually in crimes like this, they don't print an image of teh victim. And mug shots are public information. So why not print them ?

And I think 19 years and 34 years is ridiculously short for being convicted of kidnapping. They should both get life in prison. Preferably in solitary confinement. In 4 foot by 4 foot by 4 foot cells.

There have already been pictures of the kidnappers and attempted murderers posted on line with previous stories. A quick search for "Anthony & Jason Jenkins" will bring you those results.

I am glad that they posted a photo of Mr. Pennington this time, for contrast. The perps appear to be much stronger than he is, and I can now understand better why he had to jump off a cliff to escape from them. He was outnumbered and out-muscled by two ignorant cowards.

All the more reason they should both be sentenced to life in prison.(There is no parole in the federal system).

Good thing this was prosecuted in federal court rather than a state court or these guys would have been released with just a warning.

I was unfamiliar wiht this crime, and I just read teh deatails of it online here: http://www.fbi.gov/louisville/press-releases/...

After reading teh detalis of teh crime, I am more convinced that there is NO WAY they should recieve less than life in prison in solitary confinement. Gives them a chance to think for awhile about what they did to this man.

I simply believe that ANYONE convicted of kidnapping should NEVER be released from prison.

Hopefully they are killed in prison so we don't have to waste tax dollars on this scum.
