I guess once a conversation goes back and forth more than once, you aren't sharp enough to follow along.

Allow me to correct you. That is not what you claimed. What you claimed was this:

"Marriage is about the opposite sex, conjugal mating of male and female."

To which I responded:

"Not legally, it isn't."

You stand corrected. Again.

<quoted text>Obama has no right to overturn law duly enacted by Congress (i.e. J. Biden) and signed by the President. The Supreme Court of the United States reviewed the state's right to define marriage one man and one woman in Baker v Nelson and allowed it to stand.
Stupid: I didn't mean Obama would singlehandedly do it. But he'll get the repeal passed if necessary.

You keep bringing up Joe Biden, which is interesting since Joe Biden no longer supports DOMA. He is not the only one.

DOMA will not stand, one way or another. Period.

On the contrary, you may end up "hanging yourself", once you're in a jail cell. I hear rolled up bed sheets can act just like rope.

Same sex marriage changes marriage law to scrap its gender diversity and integration in favor of gender segregated marriage. That harms everyone, married and single alike.

Neither of them have overturned DOMA, the law of the land defines marriage as one man and one woman.

WeTheSheeple wrote:
Yes, states can define marriage, the federal govt can't. They can only accept the definition of each state.
The Federal government does define marriage in DOMA, and it defines marriage as husband and wife.

The Supreme Court hasn't and isn't overturning DOMA, it was passed by Congress with Vice President Biden's vote of support, and signed by the President. There is nothing illegal about DOMA.

Marco Rubio is just a token, promoted by the media as their next possible yes man from the R party. Good ideas don't count in politics. Solutions to problems don't matter. Obeying the law certainly doesn't matter. What matters is that you will do whatever the money people tell you to do. And that is the story of how we have nominated so many terrible candidates and why our country is falling.

Prove the harm, dear.

Prove that legal marriage harms gay couples, their kids, and elderly gay people. Prove that same sex marriage harms straight couples, or society.

Repeating something again and again doesn't make it correct. PROVE it.

Didn't the government once support slavery? Didn't it support banning women from voting? Didn't it support segregation? Didn't support prohibition?

Things are only legal until til they are not.

Now, as to whether a law is constitutional, that's a bit more clear. And banning same sex couples from the basic civil right of marriage simply because other people don't like them for personal or religious is clearly unconstitutional.

But even you know that DOMA will fall as all other such irrationally discriminatory laws have fallen.

If not now, then soon. Public opinion has shifted too far for such an unconstitutional law to remain for long. It simply harms too many people.

So only same-gender couples can marry in Massachusetts & New York & Connecticut & Iowa & New Hampshire & Vermont & Washington & Maine & Maryland & D.C.?

Really??

I'm pretty sure that would have made the news.

DOMA has been ruled unconstitutional by both the 1st & 2nd circuit appeals courts.

The SCOTUS will rule it unconstitutional in June.

It's unconstitutional. That's why we have a Supreme Court. A President can sign anything, that doesn't make it constitutional.

Enjoy DOMA for the last few months you can. LOL.

Wake up immigration is here to stay, for several reasons, 1. New tax base 2. New workforce to train 3. New welfare to bump old welfare families down the food chain 4. New soldiers to get citizenship 5. States will have to change rules 6. More to put in prison because they don't know the rules 7. Still trying to find ways to screw up the system

Actually now that men and women under 30 years of age can be in the Armed Forces the government does not have to have a lottery. The new immigration crowd will have no choices but to be in the military, you see!

Obviously, in response to your post, it meant "You are" that stupid.

Thanks for proving how stupid you are by not getting something so simple and requiring me to waste my time breaking it down for you.

Stupid.

Now piss off. Grown-ups are talking.

Marco Rubio knows full well that by making the statement he did, he made this a gay issue. This way Marco can SEEM to be in favor of Immigration reform, but is in fact placing roadblocks in the way of any reform he might agree to.

Anyone who misses that point is very naive when it comes to American Politics.
