LITCHFIELD MISUNDERSTANDING: Gay pair turned away for wedding at office

A gay couple were disappointed Monday morning when they asked to be married at the Litchfield Town Office and were turned away, though the town clerk and deputy town clerk are authorized to perform weddings.

The notories aren't aren't required to marry anyone, so there isn't use in suing. It would be difficult to prove they refused this couple just because they were a same-sex couple.
