"We want to obey the Holy Bible with all of our heart and soul"

Go ahead, man, who's stopping you? Why do these people act like THEY can't follow their favorite religion unless EVERYONE is?

"and we want Jesus as our king."

Nope! NO kings. That was almost the WHOLE POINT of forming this country in the first place. Jesus can put his name on the ballot like anyone else.

For hundreds of years biblicists have been lecturing people on the importance of adhering to the Bible's teachings on ethics, manners, and morality. They quote Jesus and Paul profusely, with a liberal sprinkling of Old Testament moralisms. The problem with their approach lies not only in an oft-noted failure to practice what they preach, but an equally pronounced tendency to ignore what the Bible itself, preaches. Biblicists practice what can only be described as "selective morality". What they like, they expound; what they don't like, they ignore, even though the validity or strength of one is no less than that of the other. That which is palatable and acceptable is supposedly applicable to all; while that which is obnoxious, inconvenient, or self-denying is only applicable to those addresed 2,000 years ago. They enjoy quoting the Ten Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount, and some of Paul's preachings, for example, but don't pretend to heed other, equally valid, maxims. The following examples show the selectivity of apologetic morality.

First, a true follower of Jesus would have to be extremely poor--as poor as the proverbial church mouse. The Bible makes this quite clear:

"...none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up everything he has" Luke 14:33
"If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor and you will have riches in heaven" Matt. 19:21
"Sell your possessions and give alms" Luke 12:33
"But give what is in your cups and plates to the poor, and everything will be clean for you" Luke 11:41
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,.... But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.... for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" Matt. 6:19-21
"How hardly shall they that have riches enter to the kingdom of God" Mark 10:23
"Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" Matt. 19:23-24
A certain ruler told Jesus that he had obeyed all the commandments from his youth up. But, Jesus said, "Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me" Luke 18:22, Mark 10:21

Paul said, "For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ" (Phil. 3:8 RSV)

John 14:15 KJV, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Imagine Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Jerry Falwell, Jimmy Swaggart, Rex Humbard, Robert Schuller, Herbert W. Armstrong and thousands of other wealthy religious leaders heeding such pronoucements!

It is quite obvious that this guy is Gay. At least my "Gaydar" went off with the completion of his first sentence! This guy is just digging himself deeper in the closet. He is lying to himself. He wants to be accepted and wants the attention from the ignorant folks that surround him.

What the gays don't like is the SIN label. But oh man they sure lik to attach it to straight people. They are trying to neutralize sexual sins. Ha, ha ha, but it just doesn't work in the real world. So they are duty bound to obey their father the devil. It is why they're out to destroy Christians and Christianity in particular. But you can see the obvious hypocrisy when their voices are as quiet as Lenin's tomb when it comes to the Islamic religion. They don't fool me..

I don't like busybodies or labels.

1 Peter 4:15

I witness to gays just as I do straights, I'm no respect of person, there hasn't yet been a straight person that denied that their whoremongering wasn't SIN, it is 100% to this day. But the gays because of pride won't submit themselves to God and confess their whoremongering and gayism as SIN. They hide behind the phrase "I was born that way". They won't demonstrate and carry signs against Islam's(p.b.u.h) harsh ban on sodomy so they play proxy and bash Christians. Just suppose the straights talked like that. If they did then who would be sinning? Naaaw, com` on man "all unrighteousness is SIN" So the gays have to attack Christianity full force with no let up to the point of ruthlessness. All the gays do is call people names like children who want Mommy and milk and cookies. Just observe them.

@ WaistWater...what's your point? Is it "other man's matters"? If so you are very vague and pointless.

I just don’t GET the “sin label”. We already HAVE a criminal justice system, man-made, and it doesn’t resemble “sin” at all. Why is homosexuality legal if it’s a sin? Why have humans been able to figure out that we all should be free to craft the best life for ourselves we can, but God couldn’t figure this out? Why is homosexuality a “sin” at all? If you don’t feel that it's right for you, then don’t pursue it. But if you feel it’s the best and only path for you, then why should you be condemned for that?
John wrote:

Some gay people like to point out that some Christians will heap MOUNTAINS of shame upon homosexuality, while practically turning a blind eye to OTHER things that are supposed to be condemned as well. It’s the hypocrisy of religion that they’re attaching, to people who aren’t gay yet think that BEING gay is the worst crime a human can commit.
I personally don’t try to attach this “sin” to straight people, because I have no appreciation for the nonsensical concept of sin. If you can’t define “wrong” by how it harms others, because of the Bible, then the Bible has not helped guide your moral compass. It has bent your moral compass away from objective, compassionate thought, and toward blind obedience.
John wrote:

The real world doesn’t recognize some bizarre interpretation of sex as being criminal and judgeworthy. Judging people by which gender they prefer is a shallow pursuit. Get to KNOW an individual, and then judge them by their character, their levels of kindness and empathy. Not by how bothered you are by who they love.
John wrote:

This statement suggests that dialogue may be wasted on you. If you put more credence into unprovable supernatural claims than you do into listening to the needs of your fellow humans, then you may have already decided that reality is of little concern to you. Their father the devil? Really? This is what you think of people? Perhaps it is Hades, lord of the underworld. Or maybe it was the extra-terrestrial influence of Xenu, betrayer of thetans (or whatever)?

Or just maybe, this is simply a normal a biological variance, and overly concerned people should not make this such a struggle for others?
John wrote:

This is a ridiculous statement. Many gay people are Christians, and many Christians are happy to accept that some humans are just attracted to their own gender, without equating them to murderers and thieves. This doesn't constitute a "destruction" of Christianity.

Your religion is however you decide to interpret it. There are Christians who believe that blacks are a lesser, cursed race. This doesn’t mean that rejection of that doctrine is destroying Christianity. If Christianity can survive fracturing into 30,000 denominations, with 30,000 differing beliefs, it can survive the acceptance of people who only want to be happy with the partner that suits them best.
John wrote:

I’ll say anything you want about Islam, if that’s your pet concern. It's a religion that bills itself as focused on peace, while it spawns violence against apostates, Jews, women, gays, you name it. But it’s no less faulty than any other religion which seeks to divide humanity and deny people their most basic natures, while irrationally labeling these natures as “sin”.

I don't think you have the knowledge to correctly judge gay folks, and what they think and value.

Why would we accept a label of "sin" for being gay, when it is a natural, harmless, and God-given trait? It would be insane not to reject such a label. And very few gay people worry about the types or frequency of sex that ANY straight person might have, unless they are causing harm.

Out Father is not the "devil". What a silly notion. For those of use who are Christian, our Father is the same one you supposedly serve, as well as any father who raised us. For those who . For those who are not religious, their Dad will do.

No devil, except in your own mind.

Your belief that you and other Christians are the victims, simply because gay folks will no longer allow your sort to harm them and their families is silly, and the opinions that gay and straight folks have about Islam are the same, both good and bad.

You might want to actually meet a few good gay folks before posting again. You have a lot to learn.
