I just did some further reading up on the case...he is a Mennonite, which explains a LOT. They are one step from Amish and we KNOW how much fun THEY are.

And part of their religion is "thou shalt not testify in court?" That's fine.... whatever.... They can choose their religion and a jail cell if that's what they want.

He's actually with a group known as the Beachy Amish Mennonites, one of the more conservative offshoots from the Amish-Mennonite branch of the Christian family tree. from what I understand, they make the Mennonites you're likely familiar with look like party animals.
