I really wish they would table this project for a few years.

Hey, LITTLE liar, when's the last time YOU donated your precious blood? Tell the truth for once, when's the last time you rolled up your sleeve to help ANYONE but yourself? Even if you can NOT tell us the truth, admit it to yourself how selfish you are.

I am guessing your blood will be yellow, due to the all the Cheetos in your diet, however, thus making it useless, and actually toxic.

The ban does absolutely nothing to keep AIDS out of the blood supply. only thorough testing of all donated blood does that. The ban does not apply to many who might be HIV positive and may not know, or since some of the supply is purchased, not care. The ban excludes many otherwise healthy people based on a fear, while legitimate when it was first realized, hasn't been true in decades. Everyone who is healthy enough to donate should be allowed to.

In principle I agree. Politically? Not so much.

The reason we haven't been successful, is that we have yet to come up with a common sense statement of when someone should know that they are not going to be allowed to donate due to their sexual behavior, based on current practices in testing. Without an alternative, rejection of the ban, will be fought like heck against. Compromise will have to be reached at some point.

They can keep the ban, or end it. I don't care either way. I only give blood to those I know, gay and straight. And my blood is clear of any diseases. Screw them if they don't want it. Let'em die.

Politically, this should wait.

Politically speaking, all of our agenda should have waited and waited and waited until it was finally our turn in line, whatever that line is. Reality, we get hated on even when we keep our mouths shut and politely smile at our getting screwed, we can survive anything they throw at us.

This is just another plank in our opposition's platform.

They should have to build their own.

They will build their platform whether we help them or not, their hate doesn't require our actual assistance, it just happens all on its own.

Neither was that of the Nazis, but you don't hand the enemy a weapon.

Our actions should not be governed by their over reactions. It's why we kept losing to them.

No. We kept losing because we underestimated their institutional inertia AND their momentum once roused.

This one REALLY plays into survival issues. The others had to be pretty contorted first.
