It's not always the money, it's how it's spent. And in the past,, our side has not always done that brilliantly.

Hopefully, this time they will.

It isn't about the money, though seeing that there are way more donations to the pro-rights groups than the anti-rights groups is a good sign.

I think the tide is turning in our favor much faster than people realize. It's showing up in the money trail, of course, but also just in general.

My partner of 18 years and I are planning on going to New York to get married next week. When we called ahead to the county office in the tiny little town we're going to register in to make sure we had our paperwork in order, the woman on the phone said, "Oh, that's wonderful!! We're not a very big office here so you'll be the first gay couple to register with us! How wonderful! We'll look forward to seeing you both next week then!"

Color me surprised!! I was expecting the usual one-word answers from a bored public employee. I certainly didn't expect excited anticipation. Go figure....

That's amazing!:)
I hope I get the same reception when I marry my boyfriend, I am lucky to live in Canada for that at least.
All the best to you and your hubby!

Thanks, Poodle! That's really thoughtful of you. We're just planning on a quiet weekend at home, though. Nothing special.

Get real.

McKenna will get elected and all this gay marriage garbage will come to an end just like medical dope. You people are just the minority and when the MAJORITY comes to vote and be heard you will lose.

No more gregoire!!! Yes!!!

Sure, we'll all stop fighting for equality on the off chance that a bigot will get elected. Everyone will just give up.

You keep telling yourself that.

That's just silly.

We don't get to vote on which basic civil and human rights are afforded to other law abiding Americans. And if we try to do that, we have the Courts to address those abuses.

That's the American way.

I found this provision of the new Law to be very interesting, and possibly problematic in the future:

" ... Permits same-sex couples from other states with valid civil unions or domestic partnerships to marry here ... "
