In many places around the world polygamy and polyandry are perfectly acceptable cultural norms.

So long as nobody is forced into marriage i don't have an issue.

Why the hell are you posting a lie? I have no horse in the polygamy race. Doesn't affect me in one way or the other. Nothing is worse than a stalker running around from thread to thread posting crap about me. Get a life you stupid freak.

Oh, are you Frankie's protector, now? I'm sure he finds you as annoying with your insignificant rants as the rest of us. I suggested he find a polygamy thread. Now he has a couple he can post on. He sure doesn't need help from a name changing stalker like you! Now go screw your imaginary wife.

Not mad at all. Simply stating fact. No need for you to change usernames out of perceived fear. It's not like I can reach out and slap you along that stupid head of yours! Shouldn't you be out looking for a couple wives?

I wonder if Brown and his family will move back to Utah? On the show, they had left and moved to Nevada for fear of prosecution. They were really struggling after the move. I'm not sure how much of that show is for real. He must have one hell of an income, because each of those wives have their own large, new, home.

Polygamy is simply adultery out in the open ; you have to give it credit for honesty . About 95 per cent of men and women practice it and call it " SIN " afterwards , when they find themselves in what's termed indecent ( sorry , decent ) society .. But it takes very , very, fine people to carry it off successfully - no jealous scenes , well-tamed egos and genuine affection between the parties involved ; in short real intelligence and humanity , ingrediants that are mighty scarce indeed ..

I say more power to the people that can pull it off. I think it will be a long time before it's legal, but at least in Utah they can now all live together even though only two can be legally married. I don't like to share, so it wouldn't be my cup of tea!

I'm already seeing editorials that say the pro-gay have tried to "distance themselves from this issue" -- without, where that is true, explaining *CORRECTLY* why.

I'm already seeing editorials that say those who claimed "gay marriage will lead to polygamy" are right -- incessantly, tirelessly and laughably using the *INCORRECT* paradigm to explain something which, if it is true, is a result *OF THAT PARADIGM*: In other words, if this is actually verifiable, it only shows that massive numbers of people view marriage equality wrongly and wrongheadedly, and have persisted in doing so.

Almost to the point of being HILARIOUS by now, zero about polygamy continues to reflect upon the pro-gay, and reflects much, much more horrifically upon the antigay.

But ya know what? Don't take my word for it, start reading these boards and I guaran-freaking-tee you you'll see multiple examples of what I mean.

And the anti-gays are already citing this ruling as proof of their "slippery slope" theory.

Of course this case had nothing to do with marriage equality or even marriage for polygamous "families", but they never let facts get in their way.

And adultery is NOT honesty. Adultery is "Unknowingly" to your spouse as having an affair with another person. And with respect to polygamy I can't imagine who the hell would any more than one father. But this is what those identifying as being gay want, confusion among children and creating an "Identity crisis" because that is sadly what you have, David. David?
It seems your powers of fully understanding what you read are seriously impaired . AND .. many persons are fully aware of their spouses adulterous behavior . I has nothing to do with knowing or not knowing ; there wouldn't be a single private detective left otherwise .

Even if it did -- even if individual people were accepting this as a direct result of gay marriage -- it shows they are misclassifying and misunderstanding marriage equality in paradigmatic terms.

Marriage was *completed* by recognizing same-sex couplings within its framework. Every last one of the people talking about polygamy in the same breath as gay marriage are acting like marriage was done and completed *and then gay marriage came along* and upset the apple cart. They're acting like gay marriage is outside the paradigm; it's a neatly fitting part of it. It's what was *missing* from making marriage complete and proper, based on *orientation*.

(And by the way, what in the hell is wrong with people? I feel I am seeing more and more people call it a "lifestyle" and I often stop reading when I see that word; it renders their opinion valueless and suspect.)

Those who claim that my explanation of the paradigm is "faulty" because one could also say that polygamy "completes" marriage are actually frightening, to me: They're missing 100% the point of the E X I S T E N C E of marriage. Its very existence is predicated on a coupling; even in cases where polygamy is accepted or exists, those are multiple overlapping instances of *couplings*. It really *DOES* redefine marriage to include groups; it's like saying the sky is green, in my opinion. All of that having been said, I have no personal problem with those multiple couplings, none at all.

The above points (from me), however, are very difficult to make to *ANYONE* who is not clearheaded as hell because antigay screaming has obfuscated so many points, and so many uneducated people have seized upon these.

To me, marriage was always about groups, otherwise known as family. Including gays also redefines marriage because they are incapable of producing a family whether they choose to or not. Marriage is one man and one woman, period.

Except of course for the simple fact that marriage is NOT just one man & one woman anymore.

Period.

Maybe one day you'll come to terms with reality; if not, then that's your problem.
