That is a last straw. If he cannot oppose such a bill, what does that really say about what he believes in? The Ugandan bill in question is so stringent on individuality and freedom of speech that not only can someone be put to death for being gay, they can be put to death for having "formerly" been gay. Leaders of human rights organizations with anything LGBT inclusive can be sentenced to prison or death. Even ex-gay ministries are targeted by this law! What about this law is it that makes Rick Warren feel it is not worth opposing? It not only stands against efforts by LGBT inclusive organizations, but the very same ministries Rick Warren himself supports! Furthermore, this kind of oppression on individual liberty and freedom of speech is something any American should oppose! The fact Rick Warren does not speaks volumes about the goals of the religious right! Really Rick? You think I deserve to be put to death because I'm gay, and so does my mother because she won't oppose it?

David, David, David, once again, you can change your name, you can hide your location, but there's just no disguising that insanity of yours. This genocidal law has EVERYTHING to do with being homosexual, while you would probably support this kind of manifest hate after all, we all know that you really are that disturbed, you really should read up on what this law actually does. For Warren to remain silent, despite his many ties to the country, is reprehensible beyond belief.

So Rick Warren doesn't oppose murder and our "fierce defender" doesn't oppose Rick Warren.

Good to know where we stand with the leader of the Democratic Party.

The law has nothing to do with "being" a homosexual. It is directed at homosexual acts, which both Islam and Christianity consider to be very serious sin.
Not true. It persecutes anyone who has professed or is professing to be homosexual in addition to any organization that supports, recognizes, or even ministers to anyone who is/was gay. Before the law is even enacted, the first case coming before tribunal is that of a former Roman Catholic priest who was running an ex-gay ministry officials are claiming was in fact a gay church. This law suppresses freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the universal right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is beyond draconian and once enacted will be about the closest thing to concentration camps the world has seen since Hitler. Let me be clear- if you are gay, were gay, supported anyone who ever was/is gay in any single way including the act of ministering to gay people. If your own mother supported you and did not condemn, then not only would you be put to death, but so would your mother. All this aside, what is obvious is that you somehow think there's nothing wrong with that. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again, anti-gay christians wish death upon the LGBT community, and no doubt you all would do the same if it were politically feasible to legalize the same in America.

It's odd. Christian churches were blasted, probably by these same posters, for their work in Maine to influence and educate voters. Now they are being blasted because they won't use church funds and resources to influence the law in another country.

No one is asking Warren or his church to spend a dime, or to expend any resource beyond his influence with the Christian churches of Uganda. The only thing he has been asked to do is to speak out and that costs him nothing. For him to remain silent on this issue in a nation where his mission is so active, is nothing short of deplorable.

What you say might apply if it were not for the Roman Catholic Church and Schismatic Anglicans being responsible for spearheading this initiative in the first place. Have no doubt, hatred ends in bloodshed, and this is who our fellow Americans get into bed with every time one choose to vote away the rights of a minority. The true agenda of the religious right in America is to ensure people such as myself have no right at all, not even the right to live.

In the case of Rwanda, the West did nothing.
In Sudan the West called it genocide but did nothing
Now Uganda is preparing a new genocide, this time of gays.
What makes you think Western countries will suddenly discover their interest in human rights?

This just proves that right-wing "christians" are no better than their Muslim counter-parts who wage religious war. They are all from the same mold, and they know nothing but fear, hate, ignorance, and bigotry. And we need to keep an ever-watchful eye on the like of Phelps and his ilk.

This will hopefully be a wake up call for those who feel that this insanity won't happen to us.

The Patriarchal Religious Military Industrial Complex can not survive in a world of egalitarian LOVE. As it becomes increasingly clear to intelligent people everywhere that the true nature of the infinite Cosmos is egalitarian we need to relalize that the insanity of this edifice will dramatically escalate! What is happening in Uganda and the indifference of the patriarchal religious establishment should be a wake up call for all of us on the planet!

All the fuss these hateful people make in their killing of abortionists is expanding!

anyone who questions the danger we currently face in the United States just needs to do a search on "Blood Atonement and the Mountain Meadows Massacre" to see we have a large wealthy group that is just as eager as the nation of Islam to step in and take charge of the homosexual problem!
