At that time, I had not planned on moving out of New York.
But after another brutal winter in New York, I decided to move to the southwest in the summer of 2011. After living in Albuquerque for awhile, where I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT it would always be sunny and warm, I slipped in the snow and broke my leg.:( That week I decided to move to sunnier climes in Arizona (which I purposely avoided doing when I moved to New Mexico, because I thought Arizona would be too hot).
So in December 2011 I moved to a small city (pop about 9000) here in southern Arizona called "Coolidge" (named for President [John] Calvin Coolidge).
One day, on the spur of the moment, I decided to go to the Coolidge post office to get some stamps. There was only one customer in the post office waiting to be served. He was wearing a uniform. He looked familiar.
It was Sheriff Paul Babaeu. I recognized him. LOL We chatted for awhile, and I asked him which were the best gay bars nearby. He seems like a very nice guy. I was surprised to run into him by chance in this tiny place.
