Once we get past the conundrum of "infallibility" we have pretty good chances of staying Catholic. If the pope is not infallible he can be wrong when he says his is. That takes care of a major, if not the major, problem. History is no witness to any thing like infallibility anywhere and with anyone. But the pope has the great positon, literally, of being in the right place. Peter died in Rome. John Paul II demonstrated that Peter should not and would not stay there. Imagine the pope actually leading God's people in the Catholic Church. Take off the ceremonial clothes and wear the cloths of the people. Be with us like Jesus was with us. Lead us by expample and let God be God. We left the "you got to and you should have" Church in 1965.

Being Catholic is an awful and chosen lifestyle that one CAN BE SAVED FROM, if one only truly desires to SEE THE LIGHT and follow the teachings of Martin Luther !
