Well if the other parties - those opposing marriage equality - have standing then the same sorts of intrusive requests may be made of their private information, it would seem. And they could presumably be deposed and asked all sorts of things about how their personal sexual and (professed) religious beliefs do or do not match up.

Because they most assuredly will not match up - no one runs around bleating about and trying to take civil rights away from those who covet or who take the lord's name in vain, after all.

They are doing whatever they can to attempt to delay the inevitable.

What other choice do they have?

Of course they're using stall tactics. That's the only defense they have. To me, this is a sign that even those *hired* to defend the bans can't do it.

One wonders when the bigots will start living in the real world and know that gay rights are here to stay.

They are stalling to place the Case smack into the center of Pennsylvania's election season.

C'mon people. Look at the WHOLE board.

I'm not so sure that's a winning strategy any more. And I don't think it will be good for Governor Corbett.

What are gay rights? I thought you had the same rights we all have. The government writes the rules, they apply equally to everyone.

Interesting thought. Technically, I guess "gay rights" don't exist. Unless they're taken away or not recognized. Then, suddenly, their lack of existence proves their existence. But only because they're being denied.

Deep, Wondering. Who knew that YOU could come up with something so profound??

Sure, just like segregation laws applied equally to everyone, and voting laws which denied women the right to vote applied equally to everyone.

I guess some people are just a little more equal than others.....

That's what you thought, but then you're a dumb, bigoted pos.

We should have had equality in the law: Then fundie xristers couldn't have married, adopted, served openly in the armed forces, been protected from arbitrary firing, been covered by hate crimes enhancements.

And of course then businesses would be permitted to reject talibangelical customers, something businesses may unfortunately not do now.

No they don't and until you're gay and suffer those unequal rules you have no comment that applies to this discussion.

Rights are not given by the Government, only guaranteed by it.

Your Rights are not yet entirely guaranteed to us ... yet.

Including the right to marry the unrelated consenting adult of your choice. Sadly, there are still some states that do not recognize that most basic of human rights, but we are changing that injustice with every lawsuit, and court ruling.

Thank goodness!

So, on a thread about marriage law, you can think of nothing else but harming children? You have some deep and dangerous issues. Please try to find help.

All men are created equal, but not all men are TREATED equally. The goverment makes laws, but it can't take hatred and bigotry out of people's hearts. You're DELUSIONAL if you think that gays and lesbians don't get discriminated against on a daily basis.

That's because not all men do each other up the butt. We don't treat filthy perverts the same as normal decent men.

LOL!!!! Ask *ANY* straight women how many straight guys are into anal sex. They will roll their eyes and say, "ALL OF THEM!!! They ALL want it!!!!"

Straight people even have adorable little euphemisms for it. "Back door access." Getting a "Back door pass." All created so they don't have to say "anal sex".

And since straight boys outnumber gay boys by something like 20 to 1, guess who's having the vast majority of anal sex??? Yep!!! Straight people.

So, tell us. Since you "don't treat filthy perverts the same as normal decent men", how do you know if the straight guy you're talking to is a "filthy pervert" or not?? By your definition, it's far more likely that he is than that he isn't!! LOL!!!!

ROTFLMAO!!!
