NBC has canceled the gay-themed The New Normal, and ABC has pulled the plug on Happy Endings, which has a prominent gay character, although another network may pick up the latter.

I never saw "Happy Endings" and "The New Normal" was boring. I'm sure the Million moms had forgotten about it anyway. they seem to have the attention span of kindergarteners and if something shiny comes along, they run after it.

Why isn't anyone whining about "Modern Family"? It is SUPER gay friendly, but I have not heard one complaint. It is probably that it is incredible acting and superior scripts.

I watched a few times. I couldn't stop thinking I was watching a TV sequel to that movie where they travel cross country so their little girl can perform in that pageant.(Sorry can't recall the name).

Sort of liked Happy Endings at first then it became too much of a Seinfeld/Friends lame imitation (about 4 weeks!). Never liked Seinfeld or Friends.

You make a good point. I remember the Million Moms objected a lot about "The New Normal", but never had much to trying to sink "Modern Family". I know they tried, but I think it's because the show is so good (Ed O'Neill; Sofia Vergara; Rico Rodriguez; Ariel Winter; Sarah Hyland; I mean, come on! The casting is awesome!)

A bit of a side story...in "Little Miss Sunshine" they are traveling to the kid beauty contest in Redondo Beach. I was SO excited, for I grew up in Redondo Beach and lived there until about 10 years ago. When they got near, there was a freeway right on the shoreline. Huh? Also, a big hotel right on the beach. Uh,no. It was actually Ventura, about 60 miles north of Redondo, alas.

BUT, "American Beauty", the high school scenes were all shot at my high school in Torrance. My 50 degrees of separation.

Fantastic! Just what we need- more of Sean Hayes mincing around like a tw#t. I give it 10 weeks.
