Is 12st still there? Three houses washed into the bay in the 1962 storm, when I was 14 years old. All was rebuilt and the disaster all but forgotten.

The bridge is still closed. Can't get on/off the island. The north end was hit pretty hard. Haven't heard anything about the south end yet.

I just talked to my dad who lives there but left due to the storm, and he said it's still closed but may or will reopen tomorrow.

Bridge opened today and I'll be open tomorrow as well from 6am-6pm. Need identification to pass thru checkpoints to get access o the island. My understanding is North end got hit hard South end not so bad. Power is on ..no water very little food to purchase. I'm going there tomorrow to check on my unit at The Moorings. Heard they held up well. No water damage just some cosmetic. I'm going to try to find my boat which was at Jolly Roger Marina last Saturday. I'm sure it's on the street or bay some where. That's so minor to me compared to the losses many others in the state encountered.

We are praying for you to have the strength to endure what is ahead in the cleanup and restoring your lives to just living again. There are many wonderful stories in the news of residents reaching out to one another. I feel that you should know that one local story today was disturbing in that so many are still out of power, but power companies that are not unionized are being told to go home. Several companies have arrived from other states and are reporting that they are not allowed to assist.
