rivers in the UK are mature and need to be deepened and the spoil laid on the banks thus highering them forming small levy's! planning dept should stipulate a 30mm fall towards the front elevation of new houses' so they drain the flood water out of the house property naturally! concrete floor trusses in flood area's should be banned' water and sewerage should have anti-flow back valves fitted by rule of Law: rain tubs that have a small 48 HOUR drainage outlet' leaving just one gallon reservoir is best' this then allows a town that regularly floods' a total collective rain tank reservoir capacity or 40 gallons times the town population' ie the number of houses and business premises' note business should be made to have larger rain run off tanks;
