Well I hope that the city and government are prepared and invest in good equipment to prepare for this flood so insurance companies and the people do not suffer great losses, I have noticed a interesting alternative to sandbags that should be considered for flood prevention the company website is www.aquafence.com it looks like a very good product, something to look at instead of sandbags that take many people to put up and get rid of, I am sure its not the best method anymore...

I am in the process of preparing my move to Moorhead to be closer to my father with his failing health and I know that all home owners near the river were taxed different amounts based on their home and property sizes...I found this to be ridiculous as home owners already pay taxes yearly for owning their property.Who designed these cities and made the decisions to place homes and businesses so close to the river where they would be in danger of having to be concerned about losses due to the government officials stupidity in the way they designed their cities.I am sure alot of the people that originally designed the Fargo Moorhead area are no longer alive but why didn't one person sit down and look at the plans and say what if there were to be a flood....even if one of them noticed im sure the fear of losing their fat government paychecks was enough to glue their lips shut and instead of using all the tax money to prepare these cities close to the water for the what ifs they just went ahead and gave themselves raise after raise after raise.....ignorance is bliss and the stupid people that designed these cities were smiling lining their pockets knowing at some point many families and businesses were going to suffer due to the loss of everything they owned because of the wonderful elected officials plans.I dont care what anyone says....someone had to have a brain and know this was some day going to happen....these are elected officials with educations and I know multiple people without a college education that would have planned the building of the city better then those officials that did.....Maybe less raises with that tax money and instead taking a smaller check and use the money to make the necessary repairs without constantly hitting up the people already pulling every dime out of their pockets just to have a place to live....use the money for fixing their errors and maybe pay teachers more as they certainly deserve a raise as their work is evident through our children!
