Inspectors taking the first-ever inventory of flood control systems overseen by the federal government have found hundreds of structures at risk of failing and endangering people and property in 37 states.

More bullshoot to try to extort money from small river towns. Levees will, at some point, ALL fail. Until they do, there are no guarantees, and these papers are just more scare tactics. The levee has been holding for many years, and will hold many more. I seriously do not see it failing, unless they keep flooding the river from kentucky dam. Bunch of scam artists if you ask me. You keep flooding the river, and never give the levees a break. Plant some damn trees by all of them, the roots WILL hold them together.
